I just joined the fun/fight....

I had been to this site before and read everything without joining. What an education! So when a dating scammer showed up out of the blue, I was armed and dangerous....lol

When I realized what he was, I determined to do what you guys do and make his life hell. Since I am a writer I also documented everything and am planning to write an ebook on it and give it away free to every dating site there is.

Since the country they live in will do nothing to stop this, and even Yahoo won't discontinue a reported scammers email, the only defense to this heinous crime is to educate the people not to fall for this mess.

Oh, and to make their lives hell when we get the chance!

Hello there, and welcome to eater! Good to see we lured another one in the love basement - this place was so silent months ago. Being down here alone with my thoughts wasn't quite healthy for us who were down here. So, always glad to see another one joins the fight! Very Happy

May I ask not to report scammers to their email providers? If their accounts get shut down, they just make another one which nobody knows anything about. If they keep their old ones the odds that they are googleable are so much better. It's one of the ways that a victim can be alerted about their true intentions. I can advise you to sign up for a mentor in the "assistance for newcomers" thread in the Help, Hints and Tips Forums. Who knows, you'll end up with me Laughing

I do hope in all your reading here when you first found us that you took to heart the warnings about baiting safely. In other words, you did use a "safe" email addy and fake details, right?

I've thought about publishing my baits, but they're rather boring - except the Stanley bait, but that was a mass-bait, and I was only two or three characters in that bait. Wink

You have already gotten all the best advice except they forgot 1 thing, we have a good educational sticky for our romance baiters that was put together by some skilled romance baiters, one of them being myself Cool

I hope you have read the "stickies' and are doing everything safely.

As Caligula, said, please don't report anyone to an e-mail provider, it's very counter productive, someone some where, could have a bait running, and
if the e-mail account is cancelled , the baits all over and all that work goes out the window. Plus it's a lot better if we know where the little buggers are.

With your Ebook, it might be a good idea to post that on our sister site "scamwarners" there more into education, then we are here.

As for supplying the personal sites with such a thing, That is also a waste of time, without the scammers half of them would be out of business, and the other half would also be struggling for the advertising dollar, that supports them. No one's going to advertise on a site with no traffic.

We do many baits that amount to nothing, or just plod along, and as
Titania has said , they boring, but while they might b boring, they also take up the scammers time, which is the main aim of the thing.

Sure we all get the odd funny one, or something that sounds unbelievable, Like the transvestite, running rampant in the old mens home, black pudding making, or one of my faverites, trying to seduce the baits mum. but these sorts of things have to be planned and most don't amount to anything..
