I just looked up the address and it's real. How to tell if that's a real account though? (love how each word is capitalized)

Swift code isn't checking out for some reason, but the general rule is that if the lad is expecting you to transfer money into it, it's real. They wouldn't give you a fake account if they're expecting money Very Happy

It's probably fake. Assuming you're looking for accounts to report to the mysterious "Alan", the clue is that you're not being asked to move money into this account. It's just there for "flash" purposes...to lend authenticity to the pitch.

Since the lad thinks you're dead but is sending you this email, he'd expect you to say "wait a minute...I'm still here" at which point the funds can be moved to you...upon payment of a small series of advance fees.

Well now I look silly. Go with what ratter said, since I didn't happen to catch the fact that you weren't transferring money into it. Explains the fake swift code.....

As JadeFalcon notes, the SWIFT code is invalid. Also, the ABA routing number is real, but there's a minor disconnect...about 3000 miles...
