Hi guys!
I am brand new to the forum (and to scambaiting). I came across 419eater the other day and I've been lurking ever since  Thought I'd actually make an account and give scambaiting a try. I'll definitely be signing up for a mentor.
I also wanted to say that you guys have had me laughing ever since I started reading your posts. Thanks for making my week a lot more entertaining, and giving me one more way to procrastinate! |

Glad you're mentor-hunting, they're usually issued after you've been around a short while to prevent wasted effort from vanishers!
Just remember to take it gently with your first bait - it takes some real facetime to get a safari for instance, so don't go in too hard too fast (it scares them off)

I'm content to wait as long as I have to for a mentor. I'd rather know what I'm doing before I get involved and besides... it's just as much fun to watch you guys at work =P

Welcome to Eater Poke.
I agree with Nap Olean, go ahead and start sharpening your claws on the enemy.
Act like a sweet ,gullible ,simple victim and the lads will love ya. You may have to beat them off with a stick as they pile on.
If you have a specific character you want, jot down a few details in a notebook about that character to help remember.
If you dont then make up a bunch of crap as you go and you can always be easily confused if the lad questions it.
It wasnt your fault you got kicked in the head by a mule when you were younger and sometimes make up crazy stuff or forget everything... |

Welcome poke. I found massbaits extremely helpful when I first joined. You get a really good feel for successful baits and usually rub shoulders with some of the most experienced (and therefore the most insane) baiters.
Just a thought. |

Insane??? I'll have you know I resemble that remark! (Though I'm not the most experienced baiter)! Anyhoo, Welcome Poke. Time is what we have, lad time is what we waste! I've been on here a year and only got my safari yesterday.

I decided to follow the massbait advice last night. I actually signed up for the same one you suggested Nap Olean
I also have a few lads nibbling at a few of my own traps! What do you guys usually do when they ask for your ID? Everything else I can bluff my way through, but I'm not sure how to proceed from this point. Should I just tell him I don't have a scanner? |

You can:
Tell him you don't have a passport/driver's licence.
Say you've attached the ID and don't attach anything
Rename a dll file and send it as passport.jpg
Tell him you recently had your wallet stolen and all your ID is gone, it will take 2 to 3 months to get it replaced
