I have always baited conventional 419 scammers. What attracts YOU to bait Love Scammers?

I was intrigued on how someone would fall for another simply through email. Being single I wanted to see just what a love scammer would say/send to a victim. Kind of an experiment really.

ther's nothing that boils my blood more than someone ripping off a lonely man/woman. So I pretend to be a ditzy middle aged woman (as opposed to my RL as a bald middle aged man), partly for the above reason, but also 'cos it's fun.

I also entertain my firends with this as I send them updates on a semi regular basis

There a bit more challenging then the "Lads"
Plus you can be really nasty to them and people on here tell you what a great job your doing.

And it's not ever day, that everyone who you write to, falls Arse over Tit in love with you. And regardless of who they are, they simply can't live without me..

Where as in normal hum drum life, most people are more then happy to live without me Crying or Very sad

While I was a single mom of younger boys I was approached by a scammer - his story sounded good, a bit too good...but I listened carefully...

and cracks started to develop in his story - why was he wearing a tux in the photo? that was his wedding day picture...why would you use a wedding picture to approach a woman???

Honey I love you, the 2nd e-mail said, I asked him "WHAT only INSANE people would say they loved each other this fast - he said "I meant to say you were the type of woman I could love"

I had warning bells going off all over & I knew he had to be a fraud but curiosity kept me talking with him...

after a short time he wanted to send me money orders he couldn't cash -- banks didn't take us money orders and the embassy couldn't help and this was the 1st time his employer saw this problem come up

us postal money orders to be exact...so a little fed up with his insistence I went to the us postal office web page & looked up frauds...there was his money order fraud but the example being based from prisoners pulling the stunt...

I sent him the link to that site and asked him what he thought - he never contacted me again...

Then years and years later my youngest son (now 18 ) sent me a link to the trophy room here & I started to read & loved what was going on...

That nasty little scammer is in my mind every time -- just waiting to take advantage of a single mom trying to raise 2 kids, knowing she's broke...just because she was kind hearted and wanted to help someone out of a jam...

That's why I am always broke and eating beans with mine - if they are so low to let you go hungry, they need a good baiting Twisted Evil

Normal lads cause pain by stealing money and abusing trust and goodwill of people. Love (v)lads abuse even deeper feelings, they cause more pain and are in my opinion bigger scum than normal lads. Therefore they deserve to be punished more, and they have to be tracked down harder to save victims. I got into this after a friend of me was stringed along for over 2 years and I was looking for info on how to convince her. That's basically why most of my energy goes to love lads Smile

One day I received an email in my normal emailaddy. Being surprised and seeing a nice woman, I responded. This went on and off for a while.

During a rainy day, while I was sitting in my office daydreaming something in my head told me that this wasn't right. I reread every email I received from this lady. And indeed, I got concerned. I already knew about this site, so I started reading here a bit on the forums.

Then I plugged her emailaddy in google and surprise... It popped up in several places as being a scammer. Good thing I'm paranoid by nature and we weren't yet even in the "I wanna meet you" stage or the famous "please send me money by Western Onion or Moneygrab" stage.

Reading some more on the internet about these vlads made me decide to give it a try myself. I signed up here, applied for a mentor and hit the road in the wonderfull world of baiting.

I must admit that I am currently only involved in 1 romance bait and the rest is other baits (hitman, gold and lottery winnings).

edit: I nearly forgot 1 romance bait. Girl using translator to email me in dutch. Really funny to read her emails. But she/he is really, really slow in responding.

I hate Love Scammers. And that's why I bait them.

Like many others, I got into baiting after corresponding with one in Real Life. I then baited him with four different characters for a year - without knowing what on earth this was called, or that anybody else in the world ever did this.

When I eventually lost him, I wanted to do it again, with another of his kind, and a long google hunt (as I knew no jargon) for other people who might do this, brought me here.

I bait all other kinds of Lads too, but I've currently got 10 Love Lads and 2 Vlads on the go, as well as a Courier Company Lad now 'in love'.

My characters, however, never actually fall in love with them. They 'like them very much' and will even cyber- with Lads, but they never speak of love. It makes no difference. They still don't go away.

Yes, I know there are much easier ways to see porn pics, but I am yet to find a way that is as much fun.

Also love lads are the lowest of the low and steal so much more than just a victims money, I have dealt with many people that have been so badly hurt by these thieves that they dont want to go on, it is truly devastating to see the pain love scams can cause

I hate love scammers and I keep track of all of them that come my way. I track and bait them over and over with different characters to keep them busy, and try my best to leave them humiliated and expose thier details every where I can so hopefully others don't become victims. They are the worst.

Like others, I found out about romance scammers by having it tried on me - twice. The worst thing about these scammers was that they were targetting women with disabilities. Lowest of the lowest of the low, in my opinion (admittedly biased).

Love lads are so delightfully slappable. They take it, apologize most humbly, and come back for more. Twisted Evil

They can't insult you until they're sure you've been "joking" with them, so you can abuse them happily and frequently, and they'll still say they love you. It's really very good therapy - I treat my RL loved ones better when I'm able to take out my frustrations on a lad. Mr. Green

I´d like to add that for me personally, I had wanted to find out how baiting is done via chat, as a contrast to baiting via email like I had known from Shiver and Rizzo then. I was wondering how could it be done, in a live situation, with no thinking time, just having to act on your feet immediately.
I really came from the technical side of things, same reason why many people have tried out their hands on church baits like tw4t etc, it was after a few months only that I really found out how much damage these types of scams do and took them all the more seriously but originally I had wanted to try it out how baiting works via chat, and found another baiter to assist me, we shared the same lads and it was very very insightful to compare how scammers approach different characters writing to them literally the very same minute. She invited me over via PM to just try it out and I did and got a fakey profile on ProfieL00ker then and it has changed my insights away from the fun driven approach to scammers towards more and more contempt.

i think i have a good reason to do this. i was a victim of a lovescammer this year.i had much luck that i have not lost more.i think, some peole would say...what a stupid woman...but these people don't know the background of this.i have start to find out more and i have found more....then i have decided to do more. I have always seen new and more scammersites.now i write, chat and call with scammers to get proofs to post them and i have fun to see how stupid many scammers are. i play the same "game" with them as well as they have done with me.now i know how they work...they play with feelings and use a little bit psychology.they know really well to push the right button.
now i fight back with their own weapons.
i think it is reason enough to help victims or maybe potential victims

Like most of the others, I found out about vlads having been contacted by one several years before I met my wife. Alarms bells went off when, after 2 weeks, "Elana" was madly in love with me and wanted me to pay a travel agency for her to come to the U.S.
I look at each vlad's life I make miserable as a little revenge Twisted Evil

I would like to add that by our actions in baiting, profiling scammers and educating the public we are saving many people from the pain and misery of being the victim of a love scam.

For me personally, I know I have saved quite a few people from being romance scammed and I have written to many of those people about it.

Even if I had only saved one, it would still be well worth the effort

To everybody who is involved in making love scammers job harder, Thank you, you do make a difference
