Sorting out my wife's clothes to put away.

It raised the question, "Would you know where to find your partners clothes and what clothes to take into hospital when required or have you had the experience?"

Look for other things of the like and stick them there.

When I've been in hospital I've HATED sitting around in sleepwear, its much nicer to be wearing a loose tshirt and elasticated trousers.
Stuff thats easy to get on/off, that allows for the taking of bloods/ blood pressure, examination etc etc
And crocs or flip flops, easy to get feet into. I always find slippers naff (and too hot in the ward wards )
Clean , sensible underwear, leave the fancy stuff for home.

Same applies for coming home but add layers like cardigan, jumper or coat depending on the weather
To be honest I'd have come home in welliess, tutu and Fair isle jumper if it meant getting out

I was going to say waders, sou' wester and basque but that comes under the fancy stuff category

What kind of hospitals do you have over there that let you wear actual clothes in the room? Here in the US, when you're in the hospital you wear one of those gowns that tie up the back - and absolutely NOTHING underneath. Good heavens! Clothing from your home is UNSANITARY! Wink

You're only allowed to wear that for going home.

I spent two weeks in one of those gowns. Well, a different one each day, as that hospital was very keen on cleanliness, but no "real" clothing, even though I was up and out of bed for most of the day the second week.

I always wear mine front side back. when the nurses mention it's on wrong, I calmly explain "look, I can't tie it if its open in the back. if you want to look at my butt when i go for a walk, thats fine. you only have to ask. i would be more than happy to show it to you"

the nurses usually chuckle and leave me be.

It's not just clothes either. You're expected to keep the patient in clean nighties (or whatever). The only time they get one of those gowns is when they're going to some procedure or other.
