Hello, just signed up after a few weeks of perusing the site and the forums (Kinda funny, as I had hit this site 3 or so years back, and then forgot about it)...

Anyways, I am still working on setting up my starter package and am currently about halfway through my "church's" website (not online yet, as I need to get a godaddy or similar host for it). I won't start baiting until I have a foundation to rest on, namely the website, and a voicemail account (I may just get a tracfone and set the voicemail to be that of my "church").

Anyways, A big hello to all of you, and hope that you guys can help me get started in this wild new sport.

In the meantime, have a look around, read the stickies (especially this one from Nursie here http://forum.419eater.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=959860#959860 , learn what "Bait safe" means.

And I would start with some straight baits first, to get a feeling for the lads. And maybe you'll find a chance for some twist and your church there.

Thanx guys.

I will be baiting as safely as is humanly possible. Hence why I will be getting a tracfone as my voicemail (you dont have to give real info). I know I have a lot more to learn, even after lurking here for awhile. As per my "church" thing, for now (once it is live) I like to have it to fall back on as a crutch. Later on I would like to develop it (much like TWAT, but don't think I am trying to "compete" with them as we all have a common goal) and as such even have "church elders" (IE some of you guys) who could role-play on the forum I will be setting up for it.

In the future, when I get the whole ball rolling, the "church" forum would have an "elders only" section to allow for co-ordination in the "church's view and method". I know I may be getting ahead of myself, but I am planning a few steps ahead so I can bring more to the table and have more fun! Very Happy

BTW I did (as per suggestion from others) do a cold bait. Guess I could always fail horribly with a cold bait and still stand up again to bait another day.

My first couple didn't go that far, either. Then, after I read around the forum a lot, I started to pick things up. It's a slow learning experience, but there are lots of lads to bait. We never run out, so no worries. Take your time, and learn at your pace. Join a massbait, if you see one pop up, as it's a fun way to learn, and have fun with fellow baiters along the way. And we are always around to answer questions. Enjoy! Very Happy

Proto - get your tinfoil hat on!

My tip would be don't plan so much - it's tempting to lay mental rails for your bait but they very very rarely go even close to plan, instead be very reactive as you'll see a lot of new baiting opportunities you'd miss baiting on rails!

You don't to pay for a host. I have 12 or so bait sites on free hosting packages. http://50webs.com - You don't get that special webmail to match your URL, but you can purchase that very cheaply... don't have that info handy but will go digging.
