This seems to be the first one that has swallowed the hook of my outlandish modality.
It's obvious I'm trying to get him to go on a safari, but the inevitable question of me sending him travel money hasn't really arisen yet, but I'm certain it will.

The destinations for the Tanks are not important as you will not have to escort them there my friend. You will turn them over to the buyer either in Mogadishu or Tripoli, the buyer is responsible for them at that point, not you.
I cannot give you the exact name of the buyer(s) but it is safe for you to know that they are the Sudan Liberation Movement.
It is best to not ask too many questions of them, even I do not speak to them very much. I only call the number they give me and leave short coded messages.
When the ship arrives, you will simply call a number I give you and say the password.

I hope this puts your mind a little at ease my friend. This will be a good thing for you and your brother. El-Haj1 will never have to risk his life in a mine anymore, and you can both enjoy the comforts of the USA with me.

It sounds like you have him hooked pretty well so far. You could tell him that when the ship arrives to port there is a storage cabinet on the boat that has all the money. Maybe you can "mail" him a key to it so he can open it. Of course, the key will have to be mailed to him once he reaches Tripoli.

Well the "money" is supposed to be getting dropped off by the "buyer" from the SLM etc.

I guess I'll just keep this thread updated as I get messages from them. I'm waiting for the inevitable "send me money so I can travel" message from these two. I'm thinking I may be able to use the excuse that "I just spent my last penny on tanks and munitions" but that isn't entirely believable.

Just had a thought. I suppose if another baiter wants play the part of "the mysterious buyer from the SLM" and take a phone call from these guys, that angle might be worked. You could seyt up the secret password with them as well. Very Happy

I suppose the nice part about being "the buyer" would be that you could be a royal a$$hole to the lads on the phone and they would actually be expecting you to be that way. Laughing

Now maybe ships full of illegal arms are a normal part of African life, but here in the USA, such things are frowned upon. Especially if they were to be cruising into SanFran bay.
Why has he brought up a bank account? Don't these fools prefer cash?

I'm thinking it might be a good idea to set up a simple little one-page website that could have the GPS location of the ship. Maybe a map of the Atlantic with a little blinking red light that can be constantly moved around or something.

The ship will return to Norway, and I will get you into the USA from there. I will arrange for you and Haj1 to get travel documents that proclaim you to be Norwegian citizens. This is necessary because it is easier to get Visas for Norwegian citizens than it is for African citizens.

What route is your ship taking.
If you need to buy time, send it via Cape and Gib into the med as obviously the Suez Canal might have additional security and you don't want the ship searched. Also you don't want it stolen by Somali pirates (or do you?)

Well I figure if I can actually get him to Tripoli then my ship can be delayed by any number of natural or man-caused events.

I initially gave him the choice of either Mogadishu or Tripoli, he chose Tripoli. So when things go wrong he has nobody to blame but himself seeing as Tripoli is so much more complicated than Mogadishu.

With Mogadishu the ship has merely to pull up to shore and dump the tanks, but with Tripoli, the ship has to go ALLLLLL the way around Africa and sneak through the straight of Gibralter etc etc
It leaves it pretty open. Then there's always the possibility that the ship's captain refuses to take too much risk and just leaves the tanks in Mogadishu....

Hopefully the lads will be able to scrape up the cash for the long trip. You could suggest they borrow it from their friends, as the 6,000 payment will be waiting for them in a secret bank account for them when they arrive and they can always pay them back later.
They only need to pay for a one way ticket.
