I'm sure that an executive director of the World Bank is in a better position than most to lean on the EFCC, and that his case is getting preferential treatment.
The story also make me wonder if he's also being targeted by a recovery scammer.

The Sunnewsonline always tries to "glorify" the life of it's scammers, and paint their innocent victims as greedy. Evil or Very Mad They are but another example of scammer propaganda and the skewed thinking in Nigeria and elsewhere about the victims of scams. This is one of the things we fight on for, the education of the public on the real truth about scammers.
Someday, I'd like the bait this online newspaper. Evil or Very Mad

i tried to feed the Sun News a press release about YeaWhatever's trunkbox floating up the African coast towards Nigeria, but they didn't take the bait.

It does cheese me off that the EFCC can move heaven and earth to try and get back some of the wonga lost by the head of the World Bank (if anyone is greedy and should know better, surely it is him), but never retrieves a penny of Joe Sixpack's life savings. Sad
