Yes. I fully recommend getting out of the bar before last call. Otherwise, you might end up paying child support for a kid as ugly as jojo. |

I've used a few pairs, but i couldn't begin to advise you on them.
What do you want to use them for? Do you want monocular or binocular. Head mounted? There are lots of aspects to consider, but you have to know what the main use will be. How often and for how long they will be used. |

use would be lamping / spotlighting vermin. (without a lamp obviously).
binocular. generation 1. low magnification. .8-1.2x mag maximum.
head mounted, used for about 1-2 hours at a time.
i`ll be have a laser mounting underneath 12gauge.
range-sub 50meters |

I do work with NV equipment, but I'm not going to be much use when it comes to advice on purchases. I've never bought my own.
Remmy hunts vermin, maybe he can help you? I know he was pestering me to see whether I could get him a night sight a little while ago! |

I "familiarized" myself with a set of MNVGs back at basic. They are actually quite comfortable to wear and they do a good job of what they are made for. |

I have a few friends who are Aust Army and SAS. This was a few years ago, my mate called me at home and yelled down the phone line.
"Guess what I'm wearing"
I said, "Night vision goggles?"
His response, "F*CK YEAH! We've turn all the lights off and running around the yard"
I told him to drive over to my place with them. He did. He drove with them on! We must have run around my neighbourhood for 3 hours wearing them. What a great night! That was the extent of my experience.
If I had the disposable cash, I would buy some just for the hell of it! |

dont even bother with the googles.
if you are going down the road of NV you need to save your money
and get one of these.
KITE
they are the best money can buy.they will take a bit of adapting to fit your rifle and they are a heavy piece of kit.
if you know a nice man who is in the armed forces they 'might' be able to fix you up with one.cough cough cough
they are very hard to come by and if you google you will see how much.prepare yourself.
me personally would invest in a good lamp and a real good friend to lamp with.
what rifle are you intending to slap it on?
you going foxing?
dont tell me its going on a .22 for bunnies!!!!!!!
i do know someone who might still have access to a kite.

I have a first generation commercial Russian monocular. If you use the supplied infra red led,it't looks like someone lit the area up with a spotlight in the eyepiece. It isn't bad for spotting, but I don't know that I would care to take a shot at something based on what I was seeing,as first gen has a fair amount of distortion. Then again, since you can see the infrared led in a remote control with it,a laser sight would likely stick right out.Damn, looks like I need to go home and freak out my neigbors testing it now. |

Well actually was thinking about using shotgun, i dont have FAC. land not classified for CF. was thinking about mounting laser to the underneath the o/u shotgun barrel via a lamp addaptor.
i`ll then use goggles for seeing the bunny / poi and shoot. i wont be able use a shotgun normally, but think i should get it mounted almost right. i have hopes of 30 meters....
predominantly bunnies. `fox is off the menu at this venue`
cant wait for the evenings to draw in !
-ps my lamping buddy is a nv only, last time we went out. i disturbed his nv scope safety off too many times.
we always lamp with glowsticks attached to our head/ !! |
