It's about time we had a photography topic, I know there are a number of members on here who are pretty handy with a camera, feel free to add your own photos to this topic, photos can be on any subject, but please use thumbnail images where possible to save the browsers of members with a slower connection, if not using thumbnails, make sure your images are no bigger that 600 pixels width, cheers.
We had a lovely weekend weather wise, with some fantastic sunsets, but I didn't have my camera with me on those occasions, the next day (Monday), it was nice again, so I went over to Bulverhythe to take some photos, it's in between St Leonards On Sea and Bexhill, but the sun decided to change position and was out at sea that day, instead of over the hills inland as it was the previous 2 days, plus there was a lot of cloud around and I didn't get the shot I wanted, I ended up with this one instead, the sun had just gone down, the image looks a bit dark on this ancient desktop, but it looks fine on my newer laptop, I like the tones/colours anyway.
All that has been done to the image was to crop it a bit, as 2 people walked in to shot on the left and to take out a bit of the sky, shot taken with Kodak Easyshare Z1285 camera:
Some more of my photos here:
www.z1285.info
Just some general information, directly below the steps where I was standing when I took the photo, lies the wreck of the Amsterdam, it can still be seen at very low tides, I'll try and get some shots of that another time when the tide is out a bit further
The wreck is staying where it is, there was some talk about trying to remove it from the sands a long time ago, but they didn't in the end, although they did recover a lot of the cargo, including a large amount of silver bullion, the rest of the cargo is still beneath the sand, it is the best preserved example of a wreck of that boat type from that period, this is a link to an item about the Amsterdam wreck:
http://www.shipwreck-heritage.org.uk/maritime-shore/amsterdam/index.html
There are also the remains of a prehistoric forest on the beach near the wreck, I have not seen that yet, need a lower tide. |

Great idea, Scam Patroller! I love your picture; it is so peaceful yet melancholy.
I seem to take a lot of nature pictures; mostly flowers and the like. My neighbour is a landscaper by profession and has a beautiful back yard. One afternoon, I decided to take a bunch of pictures of his backyard. Here is one of those pics:
This is a japonica. I have not edited it at all, except for some minor cropping. It is one of my best pics ever!

Lovely colours SP, similar to this:
Taken early this year from Waterloo Bridge, just about dusk.
Canon EOS 400D with EFS 18-55mm lens. (Tripod and shutter switch used).
Edit:
Seeing as you started a "Just after sunset" thread, I took this study of a tote bookmaker at the now defunct Walthamstow dog racing track last spring at an evening meet:
(Same camera, EFS 55-250mm lens, freehand) |

Everywhere I go, I take too way many pictures, so choosing a couple is well nigh impossible.
Boatofucket doesn't let me do thumbnails, so I'll keep the size down.
To keep on topic, we have a view from our house which lets us see every sunset, weather permitting. I refuse to edit or photoshop pictures, it seems like cheating to me. This sunset I picked just for the colour. I dare say I could make them all like this if I used a filter. Canon EOS350D, 70-300mm IS lens.
I took this on holiday in France last year. The world and his wife were walking up and down the beach before sunset. The light and the carefree people make this one of my favourites. EOS350D again, EFS 17-85mm IS lens.

I know, but if I stick to sunsets I only have to choose from a few hundred, not a few thousand.
Here's one I actually printed out and stuck on my wall, Robin Hood's Bay in Yorkshire. Nowhere near sunset.
@ Mugatu, re your London shot, I like those low natural light pix, how long was the exposure? |

Eamonn: If I can be constructive, what camera / lens are you using? Particularly for the waterfall shot? I get the feeling you were kind of in the middle... settings wise. |

Different cameras but for the waterfall an Olympus e-500 with a 14-45mm lense. I set the shutter speed slow to try and get the blurred effect |

Awesome photos!
I wanted to show my antique doll. One of my eater friends says it reminds him of Chucky. I never have seen the movie and glad, because I would probably get rid of her.
She didn't have any clothes when I got her. I searched in antiques malls for her a dress and didn't find. I ended up buying her a new dress and now I need to find out how to age it.

Edit: think my pic may have been too big. |

Photo related-i keep umming and arrhhing about getting a Lomo Camera of some sort. Does anyone have any experience with them, i did a photography class at school-but that was just an excuse to go drink beer and smoke fags in the woods. Other than that i have no experience whatsoever.
I like the lomo for it's lo-tech kitschy kinda feel and would probably go with whichever one takes 35mm as it appears to be easier to get hold of and get developed as opposed to 120 or 110.
Any thoughts, idea's, other camera brands in a similar vein (and price range) to check etc
Oh as for pics-not mine, but i like 'em

@Dorothy: join the club. I have at least hundreds of dog and squirrel photos and that's only the stuff I've bothered to keep. And not counting all the other animals out there.
Here are few doggies...
Some squirrels (I swear, they are evil! Evil, I'm telling you!)
And, just to be considered normal, few shots of the local countryside...
