Hi Everybody,
it started 13 days ago when i found in my mailbox on a dating site this message:
Hi
I'm ....... ,a US citizen. I saw your profile and i am interested in corresponding with you. please contact me ONLY through this email address and let me know if you are interested:
[email protected]
I look forward to hearing from you.
best wishes.
......
It looked not suspicious to me, so i wrote to him
(I could not find his name anywhere, so it must be new and not be used yet)
He sended me some pics, but directly i was wondering is it the same guy on those pics? They all looked different to me.
In his 3rd letter he made a mistake and that woke me up and made me do the investigation. In his text he copied and past 2 times the same line, i found that strange. When i put this part of the text in Google i find the text back. (as a matter of fact most text was stolen)
From that moment on, there was so much to learn but if i put my teeth in something i won't let go. So i learned about headers and was able to find out that his ip was used for lovescam.
Stupid me ... love scam, also a new subject for me. I came out by this website and read a lot of stories. I decided to accept this guy also as my pat!
Now in his 5th letter, he is making a start to introduce me into his world of troubles so i think the next letter he will ask for money.
As i said, i am new into this, and of course my first reaction is to tell him that i'm not stupid and that he should burn in hell for using the feelings of people.
I think it is better if i don't tell to much about his correspondence untill the scam is finished, but i sure could use some help and tips. (though i already found a lot of great one's here on the site)
He only knows my real first name so i think i am not in any risk.
Keep up the good work, take care of the pats! |

But welcome into Eater!

It's always best to keep your baiting separate from your real life email address even if you don't use your personal name in it. If you think spam advertising is annoying, wait til lads get a hold of your email addy and pass it around. Instant scam pollution! |

Yeah, as the others said, create a new address. Don't worry, you can still write to the scammer from a new addy, he won't have a clue whether he's contacted you or not. Just tell him that you saw his profile on <Name of dating site here>. I've only had a job scam lad question it once, but even he was easy to convince. |

No worries, i just used a email address which i never use, so no personal stuff is ever going there. But indeed i wrote to him again from another email address no reply yet, but i was curious to see if he come's up with the same pics and same story.
I am only wondering, is not better to write to him (with this new address) from another computer? Otherwise he maybe can see it is coming from the same ip address. So i write to him from my job to one address, and from my home to the other address. |

Most lads don't know about IP addresses. For the few that do, they are unlikely to make the effort to compare IP addresses between victims.
If you are at all concerned, just create a new Gmail account with fake details. Gmail strips your IP so that no-one can trace you. |
