From McAfee Global SPAM Diaries - not much detail, bit of a marketing puff-piece, but per capita, that's quite a major focus on the UK

"The now infamous “Nigerian Scam” spam was experienced by every country, but it was the U.K. that received the most spam of this nature attracting almost a quarter (23%) of the total of this type of spam. The U.K. was followed by the U.S. with 20%, and Brazil and Mexico with 14%. It seems the scammers in Nigeria think the U.K. to be the most lucrative audience."

No idea how the statistics are for other countries but my wild guess is that here in Germany 3/4 of all people over 40 don´t understand enough English - so that´s the only thing that "guards" a lot of medium-aged and especially most older folks almost completely... Confused

I find it a bit strange that all of Asia is excluded...the middle East, India... Confused

In the report they explain the method behind the figures - basically these are the 10 countries they performed the experiment in, sending 5 people from each country out with new laptops and cleanskin email addresses to tart their email addresses about.

Given that all the percentages are expressed as whole numbers (i.e. 7%) rather than any kind of decimal or fraction I am not surprised at it adding up to 104%. Some of those are more really like 6.9345976% and rounded to 7%. So if you happen to have all of them rounded UP rather than some up and some down you will get over 100%. They really should have used out to 2 decimal points.
