i had the experience of visiting a factory in holland that manufactured the cheese slices,since that day i have taken another view on processed food.
Confused

i will spare you the details, but there is more nutritional value in the plastic wrap than the cheese,IMHO

Somebody on this thread doesn't like cheese? That would be blasphemy where I live!

Don't feel too bad for being nonconforming cheese-haters, though--the two local favorites around me (besides cheese, that is, and yes, I really am in the US) are beer and brats--and I'm a non-drinking vegetarian. Luckily I really do like cheese or I think they'd evict me from the state or something.

Please don't make the 'Reported Post' alarm go off again, The loud bell gives me a headache. Its a huge red fire bell that Rover sends us to hard wire to our PC's.

My wife is one of those vegetablists, so we get a lot of cheese. I cant stand that sock cheese with the blue veins in it, but the other ones I like, even the plastic stuff.

I havent posted in a week or so due to being very busy here at work but.... Dorothy I think I know what State your in. I'm From there too. and if you are... I hope they dont deport you to the veggie Gulog. what I hate about where I live now is I can't find good cheese. I haven't found a great Swiss or extra sharp chedder. I found ok ones, but no great ones. I miss my land on cheese. Crying or Very sad

*edit* oh ya. and do I miss my bratwurst. That doesn't sound right.

I say that we round all the cheese haters up and send them to some cheese-free island so that they can live out their cheeseless lives without bothering the rest of us cheese-worshiping, freedom-loving folks.

I worked with a guy that couldn't stand cheese. We were both in a friend of ours wedding, and for the wedding dinner they had pizza. He requested a pizza with no cheese. They brought him a plate of nasty looking dough with nothing on it. No sauce, no toppings, and yes, no cheese.

I laughed my ass off. Damn cheese hating hippie!

I have always loved cheese. I thought I could eat any cheese there was - and a lot of it. Until my mother bought a big hunk of bleu cheese. I was about 8, and I begtged to be allowed to eat a piece. She let me determine the amount, and I took a big chunk. After about three bites I begged to be allowed to put the rest back. She cut off the bitten area and made me finish that, but put the rest back with the original hunk.

I still love bleu cheese - in salads and on a roast beef sandwich.

I love that one! I usually store them for a while to give nature a bit more time, therefore the "Bavarian Blue Cheese" gets a little more spicier Smile

Apart from that, Feta has always been my fave (the real thing; but some cow milk brands are ok as well)... and the baked Camemberts and Mozarella Sticks, together with some slices of black bread or rye bread, are a great dish!
Last, goat cheese, yeah Very Happy

a bit expensive but worth it!

When I lived in South Dakota, a gourmet treat was cheese balls. Yes, chunks of cheddar cheese dipped in batter and deep fried. That was the first time I had seen such a thing. Now, of course, fried mozzarella sticks are to be found everywhere.

I prefer my cheese un-fried.
