Gotten a scammer arrested and charged for anything?

Look for members with shields in their profiles-they are arrests. asiaguy, jojo and yeawhatever come to mind.

^^^ Yes, they are arrests. I know that. But I am really wondering if any of the scammers have been charged with anything, or just arrested and let off because of insufficient evidence?

And how do they get arrested? Does the baiter contact the police, or what? I have seen people who have gotten scammers arrested because they were broke in a strange country, but...

Why create extra work for us? You could have easily just read some of the stickies. You don't need to report your own post that you wish to have deleted as it's created.

In regards to the question in your third post. I'm not sure how others have been arrested. My lad was making various fake ID's to try and collect some money from a Western Union office in a bank. I then emailed the bank and acted the victim. I told them I think this man is trying to fraud me. I gave them a time and a copy of the fake ID he would be using. So when he turned up, he was arrested. His mother had to bail him out. He'd disappeared for several days. I then got an email back from the bank confirming his arrest.

Reading through old threads or looking at the shields in members signatures will give you a few clues.
There have been many arrests, (but never enough) not all of them publicised as having Eater-member connections.
Many 419Eater members get involved with activities leading to arrests that cannot be reported here for various (usually legal) reasons.

No. Of course not. I just meant that I would have a Mod delete it or I would delete it, but I forgot you could only do it if a response had not been made.

I just wish I had never written that part.

I would edit it out, but it would make you two Mods have nonexistent quotes. If you guys could edit your posts to leave out mentioning my part, then I would edit it out.
