I was wondering why there had been no reply from my lad for a couple of days.... so thought I would check my good old SPAM folder. I must say, I have never come across this kind of warning from Gmail before, but I think it's great!

I've seen that type of mail tagging before, I think other mail programs might use it. Basically the email server scans incoming messages for key words like "inheritance" "unclaimed fund", and stuff like that, then tags it as spam and attaches a warning to the message. It would be nice if Yahoo did the same thing.

I get that from hushmail, pain in the ass. Problem is that you cant reply to the message, it tags the outgoing as spam and refuses to send it.

^That explains why I've been having trouble with Hushmail, I thought I had been reported as spammer, now I know I can get round it.

My webhost uses a similar points system--points are earned a bunch of things--a few of the tests I have seen are:

ALL CAPS,
mention of millions of dollars (text or number),
forged headers,
forged date/time stamp,
DEAR_SOMETHING
NIGERIAN_BODY1,
US_DOLLARS_3
DEAR_FRIEND
FROM_ENDS_IN_NUMS
NO_REAL_NAME

Points may be assigned on incoming or outgoing. You can't reply with history , but you may be able to reply without history and get through the filter--of course the poor lad will have to try to remember where you were in the script then.
