Is it worth a visit? I went to Mohegan Sun in CT last time I was in the US and I was very disappointed. Not sure if Atlantic City is actually worth a visit. I reckon once you've been to Vegas nothing really compares. Thought? Suggestions?
I intend to spend two nights/one day there. |

Atlantic city is crap, unless you just stay in the casino's along the boardwalk, you have the bright flashy lights and the spectical of opulence, and across the street from them... it looks like inner city Detroit. |

Don't waste your time and money on Atlantic City. You will be very disappointed. It is basically a slum with a few casinos along one side of it. |

Allow me, as boy who once lived in the Garden State, to stick up just a tad for our little gambling haven by the Sea.
First, if you are going to gamble, then it's a fine place to be. No, it does not match up to Vegas (or Macao, for that matter), but if you get bored, you can hang out on the beach, which is actually quite decent (by NJ standards). The boardwalk is nice for a stroll and the developers have been busily improving the shopping and restaurants as fast as the Mob will let them.
The Borgata is a very nice and luxe casino/hotel and they are building more. There are also some really good old school Italian restaurants to enjoy (as well as some tourist traps that live off the fact that Frank Sinatra once banged a cigarette girl there).
The point is -- if you want to spend a weekend there, you'll be fine. If you want to live there, find another place. |

Hmmm. I gamble a tad bit but we'll see what the better half has to say when I present my findings. My guess is that casino related activities will have to wait until the next time we're out West. |

Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun I would say is a better bang for the buck, and save vegas for the real stuff. |

I've been to Vegas and AC - If you are in a 6-7 hour drive then its not bad at all. If you like Poker - some of the best rooms on the east -
Plus if you lose - you can go relax on the beach, then go back in and get your money back at the tables  |
