I recently posted a fictional ad at the accomodation forum on Gumtree. Something like "young and obviously naive foreign girl is searching for a shared flat in Central London" is perfect for attracting lots of scammers.

Sooner than expected, I got an interesting offer from Dr. Fedric Cole:

Thanks for your mail, well, to retain my room for you till you arrive into London is not a problem but due that I have been having a little problem with people coming outside London and they will ask me to retain my room for them but they will not show up, so I told my lawyer about this and he advised me that before I should always retain my room for anybody, I must see the proof that the person is very serious and that if I should retain my room for him or her, he/she will rent it when he/she arrives.

So before I can have 100% believe in you that you truly have interest in my flat and that you will rent it if I retain it down for you, you will have to sign my tenancy agreement form and you pay one month rent and deposit and once you do that, I will issue a payment receipt to you which you will sign along with the agreement form and resend it back to me. so get back to me now with your full contact details to prepare the agreement form for you to sign and you can go ahead with the payment to secure the room for you
