It would seem nature has a very special way to balance the books.

The sun has an 11 year cycle of sunspots, and right now scientists are a bit miffed that there are no sun spots - the sun is in its dormant stage, last time we had an ice age when this happened and it could well be a coincidence and absolutely nothing to worry about.

I wasnt around during the ice age, and most of the animals during the ice age aint around now, i dont need some science dude telling me not to panic when they announce the suns about to start another ice age.

I'll bet if we ask "pretty please" TSnerd will do up a poll to go with this topic. That way we can have a scientific consensus to determine the type of weather we are having and the cause of said weather.

I'd love to know how they know that there were no sunspots for 50 years from 1650 to 1700

In the 1970s all the scientists were producing "proof" that we were all heading for a new ice age. Now they are producing "proof" that we're all going to fry.

Scientists need to keep in work. Therefore scientists come up with theories and other scientists jump on bandwagon. Therefore scientists get given big grants, paid to write articles and to go to lots of fancy conferences.

Call me a cynic if you will.

(Incidentally, what's the difference between a cynic and a sceptic? You can't wash your hands in a sceptic)

Ah, not quite.

Centrifugal force wants to hurl the earth off into outer space (relative to an observer on earth) in a straight line, while at the same time throwing you maple leaf munchers off the top. Centripetal force is what constantly changes the earths path from what would ptherwise be a straight line and keeps it in orbit.

Gravity is what makes us upside down folk stick like shite to a blanket, not having feet like a gecko.
