That's nothing.

My last firm spent a six figure sum to a branding company to come up with a new name for the newly merged accountancy firms of Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand and came up with...PricewaterhouseCoopers (all one word). Mr Waterhouse(lower case) will be spinning in his grave. We also weren't allowed to abbreviate it in telephone conversations to PwC. Needless to say, I don't work there any more.

What they should have done was have a competition among all the employees to come up with a suitable name, the prize being a luxury holiday or some such. Oh, no that was far to simple and cheap.

In the 1980's the US Reagan government spent a lot of money
on expensive military computer systems like the "Star Wars"
scheme.

One company came up with a name that was sure to win government
contracts, using a then-popular buzzword in it's name.

"Artificial Intelligence Defense Systems"

Lots of companies were known by their initials, like IBM, SRI, etc.

On the same page there's a link to an article on Wikipedia hackers who doctored the description of the little town of Denshaw...

Given that the logo for the 2012 London Olympics has been described as "Lisa Simpson giving a blowjob" I can't say that I'm surprised.

Wow ...... honestly it took me about 5 minutes of thinking to figure out what that logo was supposed to look like. And it was only after I saw "wunch of bankers" that I figured it out.

And I know what the olympics logo was supposed to be and I still cannot even come close to anything NEAR that comparison.

I know this world is getting perverse when I ( a 26 y/o man with a potty-mouth, collection of memorized dick jokes, and is greeted by first name at all local tittie bars) would have never seen anything wrong with either logos Laughing
