Dallas police are investigating how a child pornography video ended up on a cell phone purchased at a pawn shop, police said.

Police said the man who bought the Samsung phone from a Top Dollar Pawn Superstore didn't know the video existed until he got home.

"He was trying to familiarize himself with the cell phone when he found the video," said police Senior Cpl. Jerry Monreal.

The video shows a man performing a sex act with a girl who appears to be about 3 years old, Cpl. Monreal said. The man called police as soon as he found the video on Thursday, he said.

Detectives from the sexual assault division were trying to determine the phone's previous owner, Cpl. Monreal said.

No, they are incarcerated, unless the child ended up being murdered.

So, yes, our tax money will go to sustaining this jerk's life, should he by apprehended.

It is difficult to really say much more without it turning politically-charged (at least for my part) and I know there are rules against that here, so I will not go any further along those lines.

It is hard to imagine the state of mind one has to be in to do something like that. I just don't understand and I guess that is a good thing. This person obviously has issues and the child will ultimately have issues too. The whole thing is bad all around.

I doubt anyone will go to jail (unfortunately).

The owner of the cell phone will say something like "I lost it" or "It was stolen". He will then say that whoever found/stole it must have pawned it, and he (the owner) has no idea how the porn got on the cell phone. Apparently, the owner will argue, the thief put it there.

@Bruin: If the previous owner is identifiable through the video then he can argue as much as he wants.
But of course that's just a guess. After all, I don't know the video, and I also don't wanna know it...

It remains to be seen if the person in the video is identifiable. As for the person whose phone it was, he can unfortunately claim that it went through an unknown number of hands before the video was discovered, and any one of them could have put it on there. Sad, but true.
