JoeTam, that is just a challenge waiting to be met. We had a similar warning on xmas day so I went for a drive. It was very docile and I was really bummed!

Trail a long rope, and hope it doesn't break. Only Blizzard I've seen the last 10 years. Seems to be the Tahoe cycle, 1 in every 10 / 12 years.. They will scare the paint off the roof of your mouth, and debark a tree as you watch. mildly put. The chihuahua is already quite concerned. Last Blizzard dropped a tree into my friends car. Lengthway of course. Rolling Eyes

I haven't had a really good blizzard in a year. Last one dropped a measly 18 inches in 8 hours. So sad.

Never had the paint scared off of the roof of my mouth before.

After I dropped off the military son at the airport, I went for a three mile walk yesterday. It was 74 degrees F and very sunny. On the other hand, he flew into 11 F. degree (with wind chill) weather. Hearing about all this cold weather made me a little depressed so I pushed the "Home Today" button on the heater, put on a jacket over the sweat suit and stayed home today. I'm such a wuss.

We had severe weather warnings issued for snow yesterday, anything up to 8cm (big deal) in the end, almost nothing, just a little 'flitter flitter flitter' for about an hour.

Very disappointing.

Now 3-5 feet, that's more like it!

we had 48 inchs of snow in just the month of dec thats not too bad but its nouthing compaired to the winter my wife and I lived in northern maine for a winter... we could walk out our 2nd floor bedroom window on the snow

Squaw Valley is a snow "slurpur", ( deceleration pocket where the snow goes from 100 + MPH, ridge top to maybe 50MPH in the high valley.) And they got 7 feet last night. Day 1 of 5 for this series of storms.

Damn. We just got 34 inches in December, and that was good enough for 2nd most ever in the month. How do you guys move feet of snow like that, with a backhoe and dump truck?

Those nice little verticle blades (Berm cutters) you see on both sides of the hopper, (Snow gobbler) are about 16 feet high and raggedly sharpened by ice shards. Do not get sucked into this machine. Red snow is ugly.
