Tatto lad stumps me with bible verse

This guy already has a tattoo from my church that is a Japanease Christan sect. After a long time without any word from him, I have started baiting him again recently. Today he sends me this.

I've never had a religious thought in my life, but as with a lot of religious text you can interpret it any old how you like.

I think it means he's going straight to hell.

This reminds me of a huge debait that I had a while back with one of my lads. He justified scamming by saying that God forgives sins. I suppose that with that sort of logic, I may as well kill anyone that pisses me off a little too. Moron.

When someone posts a single verse from the bible, look at the verses before and after it so you get the complete context of what's going on. This is the best way to prove religious nutballs wrong (even though they're too stubborn to see your point). Anyway, here it is in full context:

26 " 'Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it.
" 'Do not practice divination or sorcery.

27 " 'Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.

28 " 'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.

29 " 'Do not degrade your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will turn to prostitution and be filled with wickedness.

30 " 'Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD.

The writer is referring to the Sabbath. So your Lad should get a tattoo, just not on Sunday Smile

Ask him whether he has a beard, or whether he cuts his hair. If so,

" Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard."

Also refer him to:

Ezekiel 9:4

"And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof."

Revelation 19:16 (referring to Jesus)

"And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS."

Of course you could also refer him to Leviticus 19:13:

"Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob [him]: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning." Very Happy

I wish that it was like that. For now I am trying to get him to do one charity event without recieving any money up front. I promised that next time I will send him money for when we plan a much larger event. He is having trouble grasping that concept though.

This lad is as smart as he is ambitious about doing work for free. This is not going to be easy.

Many of the interpretations of that passage from Leviticus talk about making cuttings in your flesh for the sake of the dead. In this case the cuttings is to show adherence to your church which is a living organisation.

Anyway, that book is old testament which holds more relevance for the
Jews. Another part of the old testament advocates circumcision, now outside Judaism and Islam how many Christians adhere to this? Most Christians I know do the circumcision for health or aesthetic reasons - not religious.

I know a Nigerian man with a tatoo of his mother with a traditional dress and head thing on. A Jehovah�s Witnesses quoted Levitcus passage when he found out the tatoo was in honor of his dead mother. He just shrugged and said it was for his mum. Tatoo'ed man would tell me about the parties that his uncle back in Nigeria would throw with 419 money.

The New Testament clearly teaches that while the moral Law (i.e. as summarized in the 10 Commandments) is always applicable, such civil and ceremonial Laws as the one cited are no longer in force. They may, however, be adhered to voluntarily by individual Christians but not imposed on other Christians.

Actually, tattooing is only denied to the common man - the best souls are encouraged to tattoo themselves.

From Exegesis III, vv 24-26:
