I think that NOBODY should give WU or MG details, even fake ones. Let him know that these are just not options - too large an amount, too insecure, not approved by the board etc. etc. Let him stew for a while while we figure out how to get the money to him. Eventually, he is going to have to give bank details or a delivery address.

Just to be specific - it's the "bank details" he offers to supply. Should I clamp fast and ask for these - refusing to accept WU as a medium of transfer ? I have an awful feeling he will say WU when I go for it.

Sorry - my head's spinning with all this a little. I don't want to screw up every other bait - but if we/I can extract real bank information on this guy we have something we can use against him. So my thinking is I say yes we can do stage payments, but as we are dealing with celebrities and high profile people we can only accept payment by using a regular bank. If I say this at the outset he knows I wont play with WU. If I fail, then all you other guys are free to continue, playing the long game.

How does that sound ?

Refuse anything to do with WU or MoneyGram as these methods are notoriously abused by fraudsters - not that he is a fraudster, you understand, but the whole process potentially is. It is a lot of money. Send someone (your personal secretary or girfriend) with it in person!

I'm just thinking that the biggest slap we can give this fxxxxxx bxxxxxx is to get him arrested, and with his scamming account info that is potentially possible - depending on the competence of the local police, but surely they would be sensitive to a scam of this sort, and the damage it does to their country.

Don't get ahead of yourself though. Athough it is possible to get someone arrested, very unlikely.

Unless this guy is a complete amateur, he isnt going to give you any personal details.

I have received another email from Chris at Facing Africa and explained what we are doing to mess with this guy. I have told him to come and see for himself, so hopefully he will get to see all the work you guys are putting into this.

We are in danger here of swamping this lad with so many baits, he will pull the plug and start again somewhere else. Slow down everyone and stall. If he gets 20 church baits and 20 of something else and so on he will smell a rat. We do NOT need to lose him.
It would help if we knew how many were baiting, and which modality they were using. That way we can get a unified and more effective response than doing it piecemeal. Please PM me if you are baiting this shit and how you are playing it. I'll put the results up here asap so that we don't get a preponderance of one thing to the detriment of this worthwhile mass bait.

I've sent off my reply, very straight, and given myself good reason NOT too allow WU as a payment medium. Reading my reply is likely to slow him down on its own, as I am trying to project a highly cultured and professional celebrity charity set up. So he'll need to keep a dictionary by his side to understand it.

He originally baulked at the idea of a personal cheque handing over ceremony, so I have insisted that any alternative involves a bank to bank transfer. I know the international payments sytem well enough to be able to talk him into circles if he comes up with the goods and demands immediate payment.

I understand that taking action to have him arrested is likely to be futile, though not worth attempting, I would like to get any information I can out of him that could be of use.

Anything I get I will share, for the overall good of the mass bait. I'll pm Jeff too.

Just click on the link. Yesterday it contained the full letter by the scammer and his contact details. Now he's added a warning letter by 'Gerard van Dijk' Wink

at the bottom of the page.

I guess Mr. Bent Bay is just a kind Danish gentleman who received the begging spam-mail but didn't notice the scam until he was told. Anyway: quick work by Mr. Bent Bay. jump_4_joy
