Baiting Documentary/Drama/Comedy/Reality show?

A friend of mine and I were thinking that any of the above could be very entertaining, and raise awareness of 419 scams.

If even the Discovery Channel ran a documentary not only on 419, but on baiting, it could do a lot of good, and be very entertaining.

I was thinking maybe a group of young baiters hired by the FBI baiting numerous Soludos in Nigeria and elsewhere.

Anyway, I know its silly, but seriously, Ive seen a few news items on 419, and the like, but it would be really interesting to see something that delves deeper into baiting. Of course, my only concern is making the mugus aware of the baiting....

Not outside the realm of possibility. Not at all.

There are government agencies worldwide, including various support groups who have already expressed interest in funding such an endeavour.

I was talking with a local radio announcer and he said he had always wanted to be an actor. I suggested he approach a production house with the idea of a series for TV, a bored-with-life DJ relates with the outside world callers and they have all sorts of experiences while he's cooped up in his studio.

I had a half dozen outlines for episodes. One of them was someone rang in and admitted being ripped off by a 419 fraud. Another listener, ME, rang in and offered to bait the Lad and over a number of weeks the Lad recieved his comeupance - a safari or two following the multiple trips to WU to claim non-existant money.

Unfortunately nothing came of it. I've still got the basic outlines for the half a dozen episodes, so if anyone wants to take up the idea, then it's all theirs provided I get the "Based on an idea by ***" credit and I get to play the scambaiter Laughing

Someone should draft up the idea, register it with the WGA, and submit it to someone like Nigel Lythgoe. He's always looking for new reality shows. I do believe he is British. He is the man behind American Idol which was originally a British show. Just a thought.

My friend and I are writing the script for a film starring one of our baiting characters at the moment. IMHO, its bloody good.
