Something that has been bugging me about this bait I have been doing lately is that my lad has not been complaining about the cost of anything I have thrown at him. Spend days 24/7 at an internet cafe, more than once, send me copous forms, pictures, etc... and not even twig at the cost of downloading and printing out almost 700 pages ... and not mention a word of cost on his part? He has never complained about the cost of things, only that things seemingly couldn't be because of problems at his end... Question

Either he has deep pockets, or owes alot to alot of people on the promise of a rather huge payday. And in his part of the world I don't think is a rather safe thing to do.

Am I just thinking too much again...

Thinking too much? No. This is his job and he probably believes his huge pay day outweighs the effort. I would call him the perfect lad. He's a keeper.

Get something unique? Don't get invested in a bait too much, maybe? Now that's a question for the very experienced.

@Herb

A good bit at the begining in April, then during the summer not so much, but lately a good deal of time. Several times he (or someone he paid) spend almost 2 days round the clock trying to get a number out of 3 differnent verification codes. If he did download and print out all those forms and is dilegently filling them out, there is an investment there.

Me, I just check in now and then, reply to emails, concocted a few forms, probably if I added it up I have spent no more than 24 hrs total on this. With a couple of nights of dreams I might add.

Stop it! You're making me chuckle Twisted Evil

@Maggot, you mean a black and white woodland creature? Nah, no twonk would sit at a computer for that length of time to get a kick, far too much effort required.

Have you checked his IP address? Is it the same every time? The guy could have his own computer. That is rare, but not impossible. The cost wouldn't be as horrible for someone who has their own computer.

Or simply he has a constant income from scamming? Even $100-$200/week from 1-2 victim is more than enough to keep up with these expenses. With these kind of resources (time, money, energy) he is definitely able to find more than 1-2 victim/week.

You did not start to bait a random poor, hardworking man whose only hope for survival is getting money from your organization.

My guess is much more that this is not one person, but a team.

I remember, when I first read one of Shiver's art project. I had some uneasy feeling. Poor lad... Then I read the "Epilogue", at the end of this: http://www.419eater.com/html/john_boko.htm
