I don't understand. I've looked at the page and have not seen any references to mugus. As far as I know it's a religious website by some organisation in Portugal. Care to enlighten me what this has to do with mugus or baiting? |

I think it must belong to the lads as they don't seem to have an 'apply for your donation' page. |

The site's almost 2 years old, the phone numbers track to Portugal, there's web presence... I don't see a problem |

I don't see anything related to advance fee fraud on that site.
I've pulled the URL from your post.
I am also curious why you posted this. |

We greet you form our church, and thank you for your interest in joyning our religion, you only need to feel out a form with your details, and gve a declaration that you are quitting all religious believes for our God.
Please we also need a monthly colaboration, of 35 USD, which we ask to all of our members |

Not sure its a 419 though, and I suppose it'd also depend on whether members were actively targeted and sought out via e-mail.
Entering into this sort of thing could be a really bad idea - you'd end up debating on whether to bait Scientologists, and then discuss whether any of these religions were the "true" religion... It's up to people to believe whatever they want to believe, and if they want to pay a "membership fee" then that is also their choice.
It's not a good idea to try to discuss whether a particular religion is a lie, as this cannot be proven.
You can however prove that a foreign diplomat hasn't died and left a trunk with millions within it in a secure deposit box that needs two grand to pay for its release. |

The scammer could have just picked that random website off of a google search. I did not see the site, but more than likely it is an actual church. The scammer just stuck it into their email as part of their script. Just like they constantly link me to BBC sites about plane crashes and such. |

By any chance did the original poster sign a religious guestbook?
Thirty-five a month would amount to "tithing" which is commonly expected by nearly all churches. Most people who go weekly will typically leave $10, so $40 a month would not be an unreasonable amount. |

@babe No i didnt just regular sites, and you are also talking about first world churches too, here in the third world people give some money, but here for instance 450 a year is what a regular man gets for a three month period.
say also.. if you multiply this for a 100 you get a whooping 45 000 and so on.. all you have to do is add addepts to your church, i didnt check any numbers but trust me i will look closely into it.
One more thing, remeber the massive suicide church in the states, if it is not a scam to play with peoples lives....

Totally agreeing with you here, but if you check the lynk that says meet our mughty leader... is blank.
Isnt playing with religious believes also not a way of scamming, I mean if i believe in a church I attend it, if i believe in buda I go to a Temple, if Christ Church, and so on.. but a site that tells you to believe in them online.... Is there ever a gathering??? again guys dont you find it a bit strange??? |

When I saw that page it said it was still under construction...
It might be a way of scamming, but almost every religion has someone who is using it as a means to their own end, whether the religion was originally created for this or not... This has been happening for hundreds of years and isn't specific to the internet, Nigerians or e-mail scammers.
I personally don't think that this in particular is something that can be, or should be, baited. |

I cannot see how this discussion could be going somewhere. This site is called 419eater and we fight different shades of advance fee fraud. We're not here to target anything you happen to disagree with. End of discussion. |

If people decide to give to a church that is their decision. The donors are not being promised anything in return (well, nothing corporal anyway). It has nothing to do with advanced fee fraud and nothing to do with Eater. |
