How do you keep on top of all the Forum posts?

Hi peeps,
The 419 forums are some of the most active I've ever participated in and to be honest its a bit of a struggle to keep up with everything! At the moment I use the "show all posts since last visit" option, but there are some forums that I'm not bothered about keeping up with (e.g. the Surplus Scams & Phone Lads).

Is there an easy way to see new posts only to the forums I'm interested in?

Actually, I advise reading every post ever made on a daily basis. Sure, it may be time consumming, but I have short term memory problems for some reason.

If you keep getting a lot of hits in one particular forum that you don't want to read at that time, go to that forum's main page and then click the 'mark all read' button.

That is of course, cheating- as R8 hints at- we expect all threads to be read in the order in which they were posted.
There will be a quiz later.

I employ a trained goat to read everything for me. He then points out the interesting posts. Sadly, the goat gets it wrong a lot of the time, so I'm thinking of trading him in for a Gerbil.

I read the general section, the romance section (my second home) and then go off to read the funnies in the paper. Anything else I need to know I'm sure I'll accidentally stumble on somehow.

Same here. Full of boring farts trying to stem the Canute-like flow of lads selling non-existent mobiles to gullible people who really ought to know better.

Each to their own and all that. I just don't get the love/dating forum personally. Nice pictures though.

I've only just started, I'm starting slowly & learning while I go so I'm only looking in on forums handling the type of lads/scams I've got on the go, or forums with relevant help & info.

btw I don't read the Love scams forum either.

Ignore all of them unhelpful clowns.

The easy way to keep up with everything is to lock yourself away for 16 hours a day and stay logged on to Eater.
Don't worry about the other 8 hours a day. You can waste them and you'll soon catch up with events again.

I don�t think there are too many members who keep abreast of what is going on in each and every area of Eater. There�s nothing wrong with Gilbert focusing on the parts of interest to him.

I use Mozilla, and have two tabs open at all times. One for my email, and one for eater. Of course with Gmail manager running to check my baiter accounts.

Its worth it to constantly check eater, all the time.

I only read threads that are locked and post in ones that are about to be locked. That way you only have to view them once. Very Happy

You could also PM Kleindoofy to have him lock any threads that don't interest you. Another PM will make sure he'll open threads you would like to post in. That way it's much easier to keep up with the fora without other people constantly interfering with your orange symbols.

What I really wonder is how the mods keep up on all the posts? Its insane really. They are always on top of things around here.

They have blown out links fixed before I see them, they have spam deleted and trolls killed seconds after they post. How is this possible?
