The new book looks great. Where the heck in the USA is it available? Don't really feel like paying 20usd just for shipping!

I tried ordering one but Amazon kept pushing the ship date forward.. So I retracted my order... I guess we can't get it in the use through Amazon yet.. Confused

I ordered it through Amazon months ago and have given up.
So I thought as an insentive it should be free thith every gold name ?

The book isn't being officially distributed in the USA (yet) however other people in the US have successfully ordered and received a copy via the amazon.co.uk site. I *think* that our moderator Eight is still helping people out by privately shipping the book overseas for people who want them, but be warned that the postage costs are pretty steep unfortunately, because of the weight of the book.

Try dropping Eight a PM and she *may* be able to help you out.

I have heard that some independent booksellers in the US have copies of teh book, but I don't know any specifics. Google is your friend....

I am far away from the USA or UK and I ordered my copy from Amazon.co.uk and it arrived several days later.

I ordered it with some other DVDs so the postage was not too bad.

It's really surprising that such a well written profound piece of journalistic fantasises and comical repertoire has failed to make it�s way down under or as I understand it the USA.
I think shiver need a new publicity guy and I�m it. My fees are very high but I will get the job done.

A few publishers I work with have a big problem with scientific authors. The authors get their galley proofs sent to them as a PDF. So what do the do? They immediately put the PDF on their private website. So we have to waste time putting so-called "watermarks" across the pages, or making the PDFs password protected etc., which in turn pisses off the other authors who respect the publisher's copyright.

I want to know why Shiver hasn't got several hundred copies of the book to sell through the eater site? That would solve a lot of problems, people would be able to PM you their order, send you the money via the eater PayPal account, you dispatch it, no waiting months for Amazon to deliver and then not deliver it, easy peasy Very Happy

If you are in the US, you can order it from Amazon UK. It takes 6 business days. I order from there all the time and had no problems. Now for the philosophical (and practical) side, in no particular order:
1) You can be the first on the block with the book.
2) Price should be no object in acquiring a really good read. Especially if you have a lot of Lotto winnings.
3) I can see that if the book is released in the US, a certain (religious)sector might complain about the title, causing a title change. This way you will have an original. (Join the fight against closed mindedness.)
4) Unless you have a laptop with a wireless connection, you can still have a good laugh at the lads while sitting on the can.
5) You can impress your friends with your choice of foreign literature.
6) It helps Shiv pay the bills.

Amazon has the book for �7.19 at the moment. I have sent a few copies off recently, and the US ones worked out at about $27, which is cheaper than having Amazon send it (about $30) but not by a huge amount. The people I sent it to had had problems ordering it on Amazon, though.

I am still happy to get copies and forward them on. Smile

For the record I finlly got the book from Amazon US, (ordered months ago ) I guess this means they have stock now or had.

I ordered mine from Amazon USA and it took about 2 months, but got it, over a month or so ago. Its essential reading.
