@Centaure, I've told him that I'll be traveling to Africa in the near future also. We could play some wishbone - you go to Accra, I'll go to Chad, we arrive at the same time, and see who gets the bigger half of the doctor.

But seriously, we should coordinate travel and make sure that when we don't show up it's on the same day. Laughing

The doctor's IP says Nigeria, he's told me he's in Accra, he wants to meet you in Accra, so he is either working in Accra with a line that looks like Nigeria or he has some buddies in Accra to help him out. He was also willing to meet in Abidjan. That's what's making me plan on a trip to Chad.

I read somewhere around that to tell him that the account is closed is not a good thing because this can easily be checked out by the lad.
Instead tell the lad that the transfer did not go trought and that your bank told you it was because the account as been flag.(still open but with severe restriction and a watchfull eye always on it) Very Happy

^^^^^^ That's what I'm planning. The wire transfer will take a week, and then the bank will tell me it didn't go through because the receiving account has been put on a watch list by the IMF or something.

My "standard" solution seems to do well with the lads, but make them work for it to get it from you.
Edit. And it takes at least a week after filling the right form to get the money back in to your account, so patience is the word Twisted Evil

I think we should all use Scrooge's Western Union modality site if the lad wants to use WU for this. If we all send him to answer questions, then it will seem more legitimate to him. I think there's an ongoing thread about it (scrooge's modality) in the Hints section.

I've used for the first time recently and had just wonderful results. I've been asked to do a wire transfer, though.

The Scrooge modality works best after a number of failed transfers. The last time I had a transfer fail it was because some other lad hacked into my pet's account, stole the MTCN, and made off with the cash. That made is VERY easy to insist on .

So if I revert to WU, I agree - I'll do the Scrooge thing after a few other transfers fail.

Make sure you have a number of problems first before going with Scrooge, though, it makes the lad much more willing to answer a lot of questions.

I finally received the MOU. It said I was to receive 30% of the money I'm never gonna get. I sent a letter back saying I wanted 50% and that we should share this evenly and that I would send the money once this was taken care of. I got this back.
