I can understand your skepticism (sp). However, Bruce doesnt believe it is a joke yet.

I sent him an email telling him that I found the money in the spot where I put it and I now I doubt that he ever traveled to Mt. Elgon. I asked for some proof.

We'll see if we get it.

Is Bruce deffo back in Ghana? He should have air ticket stubs, boarding passes, etc or, shock, a visa in his totally authentic passport to prove he made the trip. Edit: He got the visa pretty damn quick too (24hrs?). He has some 'splainin to do.

Just to quibble. Ebola Reston was air transmitted in primates, and humans who experienced flu-like symptoms later showed ebola antibodies. So in that case it seems to have been air transmitted, but was not fatal to humans. Air transmittal to humans is not proven in that case, but seems likely. (IMHO, I am not a doctor).

I am back. My Internet access has been down all weekend due to my piece-of-crap wireless router that kept passing out on me.

Personally, I am wondering if the lads were ever really in Kenya. If so, they sure got to Ghana in a huge hurry. Plus, I have not seen any hard evidence that the turds were really there. That is one of the issues with Yahoo IM. I am not aware of a way to check IPs from that.

I will call him 6am his time and see what the heck is going on. If he was not there yet, I will do my best to get them to Kenya. If they really were there, I want details... proof. And, of course, I want them to get their rear ends back there. Now that there is a creepy American in the camp, Zeid is not sure that he can run off to the cave to get the money.

I wouldn't worry mate. Even if they didn't go I loved the bloody story. I would like to believe they did, and that they did spend 3hrs looking for the duffle bag and spending the night in some cave.

What was their IP from Kenya? I know of a satellite service there that is used in Nigeria too. Send him a picture with YIM and use netstat to find his IP from the direct connection.

How can you get their IP from a direct connection to Yahoo? That would imply your YIM convo gets its own port on your router/computer? I dont think it works that way? Fill me/us in!

I just hung up with Bruce and he swears that he was actually in the cave. He claims that they were in there for nearly 4 hours. He gave a pretty close description of the cave interior. He said that it stunk to high heaven and that there were bats all over the place. Some of the bat shit was "half a meter deep". He described the small waterfall at the cave entrance and also described how it looked like part of the ceiling fell in about half way in. These are all details that took Big Worm and I an entire day to come up with. These details were only found on the map that we found. The map that I sent him had those details photoshopped out. They took a short cat-nap outside of the cave entrance after fiding nothing. He said that it got cold enough that night that they could see their own breath. I know that these guys are even bigger liars than Big Worm, Jojo and I combined, but I have a feeling that they were really there.

The good news is that I have convinced him to go back a second time. This time, he thinks that Zeid will meet him at the cave entrance and the money will be handed over to him. He is probably going to come the next time by himself because they burned up a lot of money on the first trip.

I hope the lad is more successful on this trip, at least you'll be able to meet him in person this time. Bumbling around a cave waist deep in bat shit doesn't sound very pleasant. You should throw in a little extra for all of his troubles.

Holy Crap! I don�t check my emails or the site for a weekend and look what I miss! I feel like a slacker! I did almost nothing for this thing- it happened so fast! All I did was get a few maps and contact a few travel agencies to find out about the place! I checked the email Saturday and noticed that this thing has already gone down- I was shocked!

And for the record, I was meeting a lad in Accra and one in Abuja at the same time. However, I didn�t make it. Ooops! That just adds more fuel to the fire I guess. Apparently, I need to change my image around here from being so irresponsible. Everyone seems to think of me as someone that cannot be trusted. I want you to know that Jojo�s heart is broken from what you guys say!

Anyway- I still have to read up on everything. This all went down so fast. Seems like he had a pretty good description of the cave though�
