YIM conversation...scammer or not?

So I was logged into the YIM chat rooms yesterday while doing my baits and got this message from a Philippine girl who promptly invited me to her webcam, then she started asking for money pretty quick. She didn't really seem very laddish, but she had a friend with her who she would look over to whenever i responded to her money questions (like she was just learning). Anyway, I got a screen capture of her holding up a sign for me (my first real trophy pic) but I wanted to make sure you guys think she's a scammer too before I post it. Also, I wasn't quick enough with the screen capture so I only got part of the sign and she started to twig when I asked her to do it again. Here's an the beginning of the chat:

That sounds really laddish, but to ask for 3 bucks!?!?!?!?! It'd cost more than that to send it.

she changed it to ten bucks by the end....but still i was thinking that's not quite a lot...that's one of the reasons why I was hesitant to post the pic

Even $10 is a tiny amount compared to what they usually ask for. The lowest I've ever been asked for was �50 (about $80)

I guess the general rule is, anyone who asks for money, especially within a few minutes of opening a conversation, is baitable material. Those Phillippine women are pretty bad, too...I would definitely consider it a scam.

I have actually chatted on YIM with a lot of Filipinas, after having gotten tangled up with a 'real' one.
I'd be interested in her screen shot, if you have it.

I've talked on cam with mayb 25 in the last month or so.

Only one hinted I should send her money. She said something to the effect I could buy a 'load' for her cellphone, since she was texting me so much. (I asked her not to, but they come in spurts 6-8 at a time.)
This one also sent me a letter and picture via postal mail. (Safe commercial box I use)

I also chatted with one who was young, 19, looked tiny, and had a female friend slightly off camera coaxing her what to say, and doing some typing.

I've been lurking a bit in the Philippine chat rooms, trying to see if there are any scammers. Not much luck. Mostly 23-45 year old ladies, desperate to get a husband and/or out of the Philippines!

Remember the conversion rates guys. Ten bucks in the Philipines buys you a lot more than it does in the USA.

@lotta - Absolutely, it just seems a weird amount to ask for to me, especially the $3 they asked for originally. It'd cost a few times that amount to process it at WU surely.
