This morning when I woke up, at 6am, I awoke to an interesting radio program. It was a discussion of dating and meeting people online, and all the new dating websites, etc. Not a single person called in to say anything negative.
One guy was saying he met his beautiful Russian wife on a dating site. I actually burst out laughing, thinking I'd misunderstood. He went on and on. He said they chatted for about 3 months after meeting via the dating site. Wait: it gets worse. He said after a while, she started to ask for money, and he felt like he could help her. He sent a few thousand dollars. Eventually, they decided to meet. He flew to Moldova and met her. He said she was so beautiful, etc. He brought her back to the USA. They got married. He later brought her other kids from Moldova to the USA. He said they'd been married for a while, and he's never been happier. He said he has a beautiful wife who is "as sweet as can be", or something like that.
Anyway, he said it was the best decision he'd ever made. So I guess it can work for someone. I still find it hard to believe. I thought maybe he got scammed, and wanted to call in and try to pretend otherwise? |

Geeeeez, I guess it is possible. If he didn't get the usual schlock that I see from the scammers and she really did answer and read his mails then I can beleive it. I'm positive that there are real Russian women looking legitimately, but the story he told isn't much different then the crap I see from those who aren't legit. |

Maybe it worked... then again.... we'll see what happens when the wife gets her full citizenship. Several people I work with have done the same with brides from the Phillipines. They go through a mountain of paperwork, fly to meet the family, pay for everything... and about 1/2 the time, the wives leave as soon as they can stay in the US without being married to a citizen. Sad, but true. |
