Dear Chuck
Thanks for your mail,
My trip to Cape Town was successfully.
There is no going to be any jeopardy in this transaction I am promising you. As soon as you arrive in Cape Town you should call the number I sent to you or Barrister George Number. I will be at the air port waiting for you.
Call my number as soon as you arrive in Cape Town
I am looking forward to see you on Saturday

Dear Benson,
I'm happy to hear you made it. Did you fly down, or travel by some other means of transport? I was just wondering.
I have stipulated in a prior email to George, exactly where I would like our initial meeting to be. You don't have to worry about meeting me at the airport--I arrive early in the morning. The hotel has arranged a driver to collect me at the airport and take me directly to the hotel.
It is highly unlikely that I will be meeting you as soon as I land in Cape Town. I will need my rest, since I very rarely manage to sleep while flying. I'm sure you understand this.
Either way, when I am awake and refreshed, I will call you (or George). I have both of your numbers.
If you need a reminder about the meeting spot, it is in a public place, inside the Waterfront. You need to make your way to the Waterfront, and find the Clocktower. It is a landmark of sorts. I found a photograph on the internet, and I have attached it for your benefit. I mentioned to George that I will be waiting at the sign right next to the Clocktower. If I am a few minutes late, you should wait at the sign for me
When I call you on Saturday, we can arrange the exact time for the rendezvous at the Clocktower. When we have met, we can have a drink and enjoy the sunshine for a while, and then head back to my hotel, where we can conduct business.
Please note that if I have trouble contacting you by phone on Saturday, you must be in a position to check your emails. Otherwise we have no other way to communicate. Perhaps it would be a good idea to find an internet cafe in your area.
Finally, I am pleased to say that thus far, arrangements have been made efficiently and without any major problems.
I look forward to meeting with you on Saturday, Benson. I will be wearing a pair of jeans and a red t-shirt. Please let me know how you will be dressed, so that I can easily recognise you.
Kind regards
Chuck |

Arrived at the clocktower today at about 15h30. Drank some suprisingly tasty German beer and was soon joined by a friend. Had to make a call at about 15h50, since Benson was nowhere to be seen.
Both of his numbers were unavailable (I had called him at about 13h00, after "waking up", to tell Benson that I had met two lovely ladies who had invited me to lunch. I set up the meeting for 16h00.). I tried George's number, and he asked me to contact Benson again. Amazingly (riiiiight), Benson answered immediately. I asked him where he was, and he said he was near the clocktower. I told him I'd meet him there in five minutes.
Benson arrived.
I had my video camera, my friend had his digital camera. Firstly, a screencap from my footage:
Tape was dirty at that exact spot, unfortunately.
Now, a couple of my buddy's pics:
And finally:
He seemed to be cursing under his breath, as he sat there on the steps. At one point, I was standing about a meter away from him, pretending to be a tourist. There were plenty people with cameras walking around, so we blended in perfectly.
After a while, Benson got suspicious and stood a few meters away from our table while we laughed and drank our beers. I spoke loudly enough for him to hear my South African accent, which would obviously be at odds with the fake American accent I had used on the phone.
I'm going to put together a little clip. Should be ready tomorrow. |

Nice work, if somewhat risky on your part...but the fake accent is a pretty good cover. Glad to see you made this mugu waste a lot of time. I guess you're setting up for "getting arrested" for "making a suspicious withdrawal," which you bribed the clerk to overlook, but he let word out of it? |

At this point, I'm not entirely sure how I want to proceed.
A friend put me in touch with specialist unit who deal with stings involving this type of thing. A couple of days before the meet, they informed me that they did not have sufficient resources to undertake an operation here in Cape Town, and asked me to move the meeting back up to Johannesburg somehow. I told them I would, but I wanted to get some pics first.
So now I need to get him to agree to a second meeting. Normally, I'd have a tough time with that. However, this is a mugu we're talking about. It's called greed. |

Great work Ollie. - PM me.
Definitely looks Nigerian - gold chain, fancy "dimmers" and all.
Probably sold some drugs in Cape Town to make up for the overheads of the trip to Cape Town in his Merc. |
