For experienced baiters it is blindingly obvious when a scam email drops in to his/her SPAM box. However there are some which are some mind numbingly inconsistent in their facts that you wonder how anyone could not spot them. A recent example from a 'I am dying, take care of my daughter with all this hidden cash' includes the following gems of inconsistency.
1. A passport scan from the scammer (probably genuine) showed a Canadian citizen born in 1937 but he claims he is now living in the UK. He has an 18 year old 'child' who requires 'looking after'. OK, implausible but not impossible if he had her when he was 62.
2. Both he and his daughter found me by divine inspiration following a prayer session (along with the other 1000's included in the BCC field no doubt). However his daughter doesn't know he is dying so why they would be praying for a kindly carer for the daughter.
3. I'll have to pay for his daughter to travel to my country upon his death. Too bad for him that I live in the UK in the same city as him (London).
4. I'll have to open a bank account for her. Too bad he doesn't know 18 year olds can open their own bank account.
5. He provided a URL showing a fake/spoof Security Company (will be reporting it soon on the fake bank site thread).
6. His quite well written intial emails have degenerated in to poorly spelt, poor grammar CAPITALIZED paragraphs of explanation.
7. Emails full of 'my dear'. A term common amongst African scammers but not Canadian/UK residents.
7. In one paragraph his daughter is called Irina and in the next Linda. Doh.
Anyway, looking forward to baiting this one to the hilt. I'm sure there are piggies and maybe other sites to be gained from this idiot. |

Maybe your idiot has two girls: Irina and Linda.
Perhaps Irina is honest and good at heart, but devilish Linda will write to you separately... trying to cheat her mother's trust?  |
