Really? Or pretending to be from Syria. I've talked to loads of scammers from various countries that pretended to be in Syria, but have yet to come across someone actually scamming from there. (I have run across scammers in other mid-eastern countries). |

Most often, if I can tell where a lad is from the way he writes in a post on SW, he's West African, but there are many where either I'm sure he's Slavic or I can tell he's European but I'm not sure which branch of the language family. Reshipping scams are often Eastern European. A romance scammer I dealt with long before I heard of baiting was in Udmurtia; whether she (actually he) was Russian, Udmurt, or a mix, I'm not sure. |

I often skype with them, and they can be any nationality, last week I had a yank (that broad southern accent), Ive had an ozzie, poms, russian or similar (not that good with slavic accents lol) but indeed a good many have that distinct african accent (altho to be fair, ive had a couple of south african scammers too) so they are all trying it on
I suppose that some people think there is money to be made in it and have a go, no matter what the nationality |
