No clue where to put this...
I work with a charity dealing with local homeless. We recently got our website online. I am concerned that scammers could use the stuff we post in their scams. What can webmasters for charity organizations do to combat this? |

Watermark the pictures with your URL, so that they're not as attractive to the scammers and the same for the news articles if they are image files. For text then there's really nothing that you can do to totally stop them stealing it, so you will probably need to do resort to regularly checking to see if you can find other sites using your content (same as you would do if you were checking a fake site to find other copycat sites). You could also try contacting Copyscape to see if they do a deal for charities for their monitoring products. |

Thanks. If any of the site killers find a copy of <snipped - bware419ers> dot org you can give me a direct headsup here if there is anything we can do to help you kill it. ☺ |

I would suggest using a no-right click script in your pages, Lads as we know are lazy, I wouldn't expect them to know about ctrl keys. Best security is a layered security approach. |
