Hello,
I have joined this site as I think its a great service and wish there was more awareness about these issues.

I come from an IT background, web technologies to be specific.

Over the years, friends and family will always forward emails and links for me to double check and usually using a virtual machine or just my trusty Ubuntu machine I double check these links and emails, so far they all were scams or harmful software to effect and cause issues or steal information from the machine.

In the past when I had free time I wasted the time of some scammers by responding and then later on making them call me and agree to whatever twisted deal they had in mind, some times we would go back and forth with me giving them fake money transfer details to see how far they would go!

With that said, I totally support what this site stands for and I hope to see more good work done towards this cause

Welcome to Eater. You probably won't have a ton of other replies, but I am known for my warm fuzziness.

Two things I must point out:
1- We've been a bit busy tormenting lads, reporting bank accounts for investigation, shuttering websites used for fraud, and you, know stuff like that...
2- Some people might walk into somebody's home for the first time and tell them they need to re-paint. They might meet a new acquaintance and tell them their shoes don't match their outfit. They might point out to a first poster the importance of the occasional "." or that it is "it's" as a contraction for "it is" and not "its."

It comes across that you consider that your advice and you are under attack, from members on this site.

If you don't mind my advice which would be, not to have set your stall out at first but to have, found out how to contact a moderator(name in green), and then send one of them a PM with your views.

I think it's the approach more than anything else. I suggest joining up, hanging around for a bit (with many people that have been doing this for over a decade), get to know us and how the operation works and then float some suggestions.

You walked into a very large room, unannounced and yelled "Here I am and here is how to make this place better".

We're a pretty forgiving bunch so hang around a bit.

@TamerQtaish just so you know, editing like you did is akin to pouting. No one is attacking you just like you were not attacking us. You felt it necessary to point out what we are doing wrong and gave advice then someone afforded you the same courtesy.

Anyway, editing the OP has made this thread pointless so I'm locking it.
