Hey I joined this site because I suspect that someone I know owns a scam site. Can someone test them out and post the results? Or just let me know what you think by looking at the site.
It's a computer help site run from India. I'm trying to prove that it is indeed a scam site but I don't have the courage to test them out using my own computer.
Please let me know what you guys think.

What makes you think they are a scam?

Looks like they've been around since 2012, chances are they have some off-shore component in India. I don't see a scam there at all. |

Difficult to make a judgement just looking at the web site. If it is a scam, it would fall into the tech support scam category, which is something that isn't dealt with here.
That said, there are a couple questions that would make me suspicious. Does this company place popups on the net that purport that your computer has been infected and you need to call them? Or have they called you directly, stating that they noticed that your computer has been infected by monitoring your machine's activity?
Finally, you should consider visiting 419eater's sister site scamwarners.com. They have a lot more resources for identifying sams and helping scam victims. |

Hard to say if it's legit, but I noticed a few things:
* company is listed as being in California, but the domain owner number listed in whois is an Indian number
* site is hosted by godaddy (an unusual choice for a tech support company)
* WOT (web of trust ratings) gives it a very low score and flashes an "untrustworthy" warning when you visit.
As Thursten3rd said, if it is a scam, it's not the sort of scam we deal with here. But, that said, I'd be very careful before dealing with them and get more information. |

They are a legally registered company, and while there are certainly some dodgy things about the site and their domain registration, it is not something that this site or Scamwarners would deal with.
That said, I wouldn't touch any 3rd party company that offers remote support with a bargepole - if you can't fix it yourself then a local computer store is a much better bet than someone trying to do it remotely, particularly one that has a number of complaints registered with the BRB about misrepresentation. |
