I am considering contacting the ( fake ) bank, but any idea on how it should proceed?

Since my "distraction" would actually save real victims, it is for a good cause, and it's fun..

But any ideas on how it could be made to last longer. I am quite new to this bating game, but would you be able to recommend any "gadgets", fake document creators, fake account numbers, well, anything that would make it more fun.

And for all of those who replied to me, thanks again for you answers. You gave me a balance between options to continue on, and when I would like to "burn" the scammer.

Ironically, the name Neal Caffrey is from a conman from a tv series.

A simple note to the bank with "do you know what this is all about?" usually suffices to get the lad to fire the bank script your way. From there it's up to you to be as confused and gullible as you like. Getting him off his script will yield the most hilarity.

And of course, the lack of WU and MG near you can get a bank account for you to make disappear.

As for burning the lad, the way of the ninja is to leave him confused and not knowing he's been baited at all. This leaves him open for more abuse! Simply stopping communication will do the trick as, once he knows he's not getting any cash from you, he'll quickly move on.

If you want to enjoy some whining and begging you can always hit him with "I talked to my friend the police officer (or brother or mother or whatever) and they told me this was all a scam; how dare you take advantage of me?". His insistence that this is all "real" can make for some great fun.

Not that I'm any sort of an expert in hunting piggies but, when you're dealing with a lad pretending to be a banker, the best excuse not to use WU/MG is built right into the bait.

Why on earth would a bank want you to use WU/MG over their own wire transfer or bank-to-bank transfer services? Sure, WU and MG might be OK for any old barrister or some random courier service but surely a bank would have better and more efficient ways of accepting payment, wouldn't they? After all, they're not going to tell you that WU/MG are more secure or better than their own services, are they?

When the Lad tells me to write to the bank with my personal details, I forward the email stating that to the banker Lad with the comment

Sometimes the banker Lad trips up by not reading the "email below" and replies wanting to know what I'm talking about; at other times he might write back as if I've given him the personal details. Either gives a chance for time wasting.

FWIW, apparently banks in West Africa often include WU services (not sure about MG), but you don't know that... Many times I've sneered at a Lad for thinking banks have WU, and they've often been surprised to hear that.

^ Any time the lads tell Roger to go to the bank and ask them to help him send money by MG or RIA, I come back very angry the next day because Roger was laughed out of the bank by a teller who told him that no bank does that.

Some lads apologize, other lads insist that the bank tellers are wrong.

1. Like the others you want me to use an OUTSIDE service to send money to you (the bank)? Who does that. Skip the middleman.
2. Or, banks here don't have those.
3. Or, my bank refuses to use that while they are investigated (http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052702304610404579403544220536418)
4. Or, simply, "How dare you suggest using them after what happened there last time?"

Definitely don't let the lads know they've been baited. However, there are multiple ways to end a bait. I just finished one that I've been doing for about 5 months. There wasn't really anything else I could do, and the lad was getting angry with me, so we just kept insulting each other. Good times.

Strangely enough, this particular scammer is not original. I searched up his scam, and there are many copies that his or her victims uploaded of his dialogue, and it is just the same in wording, with some changes in name and backstory.

Suppose it is a first for him, having to write a "real" dialogue to me to proceed.

Hi No-one-if you would like to begin a mass bait, I suggest you post in the HHT section. It's under log-in and not available to Google. It's much easier to organize in a thread than by PM.
