I got this email to my catcher account, first one like this I've ever gotten. I was wondering what the angle of this scam is? I'm assuming it's AFF where you're going to have to book travel or something, but I do know that they do have these kinds of organ black markets over there, so would this fall under something like a spell caster?

ETA: I guess I'm asking if it's baitable ... I'd like to bait it to find out more about how this one works and what they ask for.

A shot in the dark but the lad seems to be pretending to let poor people sell their kidneys for money (for which there is an established black market) but of course there are fees to pay, if this is correct this lad truly is a scumbag preying on the poorest.

I received a similar email several months ago but wasn't sure how to proceed with a bait based on that premise. Still, it looks like it could be a lot of fun. I'm sure there will be fees that need to be paid up front.

^ That's my guess. there will be an "Admin Fee" of some sort to pay, forms to fill, official looking documents, all that crap.

Same old AFF in yet another shiny wrapper. I suggest straight bait to see where it goes, and post on Scamwarners when you have a view of its inner workings. After that, bait for piggies as usual.

Yes - I agree with Father Moleman - the biggest of scumbags for sure. I once saw a documentary where people were selling their children's organs over there because they needed the money so bad. okay, that's something new for me.

I wonder what would happen if a lad offers a kidney or other transplantable organs. I'm afraid that there is a market...

besides, regarding selling a kidney, I think that scam can work 3 ways.

1. processing fees.
2. arrange a meeting and rob the victim
3. arrange a meeting and get his kidneys (maybe there are doctors who are willing to perform that surgery). but that would produce a big cry in the media... and since that hasn't happened yet, it might be unlikely.

I suspect it's simply a way to target a particular category of victims, who might be in serious need. That makes this one of the more despicable ruses I've seen in a while, preying on people who are medically desperate.

I would bait him as a extremely wealthy patron in need of a kidney that has been turned down in the past. This donor is angry after giving millions to fund a new wing at the local teaching hospital and being told that he has been removed from the waiting list simply because he is 98 years old.

You are welcome to use a photo of the rich donor and his wife taken at their second wedding anniversary.

Yes, I think I will do that. I think that would be a great way to delve in to this and make the most of the bait that I can. I'm really interested to see what their angle is. So far, I've just sent the opening email of:

"I can sell a kidney?"

Hold off on massbait for now ... the lad is a slow responder as it is. I only do straight baiting so it may take some time to get him to lay out the scam. Let me see what he comes back with.

So far the only response has been a single reply with one sentence telling me to fill out the form.

Of course that prompted a "what form??" from me.

I have a feeling this will be a nice long drawn out bait as slow as he is. Who knows ... maybe I'll make him my first sand-timer.

Ha. I read the letter and the first thing that came to mind was The Organ Grinders by Bill Fitzhugh. Maybe you could offer to sell him genetically altered primate kidneys for cross-species organ transplantation.

@metamit I would bait him with multiple characters that way you can get fast info.In case you do phone baits i would ask him to call you.

I don't do phone baits, but I am going to try multiple characters. There's been response over the weekend from him so going to poke at him tomorrow. I don't think he's a very sophisticated lad.
