Notes from the security company are mostly boring and discuss the travel arrangements. After a couple false starts, they apparently got someone who can translate Arabic and they know my character plans to be there on March, 10. Meanwhile, the general continues to entertain and he has a lot to say...

As to your feelings on Africans, I understand. As Arab men we have been taught, sadly, to look down upon our African brothers. Yes, there are some bad people there, as indeed there are all over the world. But also, some brothers are true lions of the mujahideen and are fighting for a better life and justice in their lands. Do not worry over my contacts in Nigeria. As I mention in earlier correspondence, I have spent time in northeast Nigeria myself and have even found my wife there. My contacts are in leadership positions within Jama'at Ahl al-Sunnah Lil Dawa Wal Jihad ( Boko Haram ) and I have been with them many times including when there is a battle. My background is in chemistry and engineering so my work with this group is on providing training and components for thing like improvised explosive devices.
