So I've been away from baiting for a few years as RL got in the way.

Logging into my favourite character's email... Lo and behold my last bait emailed me just this week telling me that the Benin Bank has conducted their "New Year Audit" and my US$20m is still available! - Yay!

The last time we exchanged emails was July 2011 after he had a number of Piggys sent to slaughter and a Mr. Gomer chop.

I'm thinking that this is a perfect 'Go back to Start' moment as my good Revered can't be expected to remember all the details after all this time

Any thoughts or other ideas?

Nice to see you back.... the very long delayed response is always a good sign as it means somebody in the lad network believes you still have the potential to pay. Why not reply cautiously, as if you cannot believe your luck that the deal is still on.

It may be that your lad remembers a lot about your previous correspondence (depends how good his records are) but it could also permit a total reboot. If a very long time has passed, whether or not he remembers some details, make sure to acknowledge the funds you have already sunk into the deal. Exactly how - depends on the chop setup you set up previously.

(And, be aware that piggy reporting is now done internally, it may have changed since your last visit. You can report pigs to a moderator, or do it yourself if you go Premium).

I have a suspicion he's one of the more 'organised' lads. His emails always seem to be the ones with full headers and footers of the 'bank' and he referred to my characters 'Rev.' title in the first email.

He definitely thinks I'm fair game. Eager to dive back in I replied saying that I recalled our conversations and was under the impression that I was no longer entitled to the funds due to the mess up with the last payment.

He came back with a list of delivery prices for my ATM card (via WU of course). I think I'm going to slow it down a bit, get him to explain a bit more and act just a touch cautiously.

I'm aiming for a few more bank accounts so thanks for the heads up on the process, last time I was here it was the honour system

I reckon it's a great opportunity to see just how far you can take him. As FH5 says a cautious approach is great. I'd go further even than that. Express grave doubts and reluctance based on the number of piggies he sacrificed and the money he lost. For example:

"Look. I really don't know about this. Last time you didn't show business-like professions. None of your bank accounts worked and you even lost my money to a thief, why should I trust you again?"

"Look, I've moved on since then. Had a sudden severe and insuprocorably incurable and unreversable attack of near-death halo-sinations caused by the stress and anxietiness you caused me last time. I need time to think if it's worth it"

"My bank manager, my nurse and my sicotryhistest all say it's not worth it. Can you convince me they are wrong"

"How about we strike a deal over the fee because you were so stupid last time and lost my money? How about you pay 80% and I pay 20%?"

Two years ago one of the rich donors has become the chairman of the Evangelism Committee. He has donated over 3 million dollars in the last five years and now demands that the Rev and all senior staff talk only to church members.

The Evangelism Committee will offer a membership gift of $7,500.00 USD to all new members, not as a bribe but as a gift to further their walk.

All potential members must first fill out a membership form, perform a saintly act and then get baptized.

Don't tell your lad about the rituals but do ask him if he is interested in becoming a new member and dangle the cash.

He immediately came back with a bank account - that was easy!
