Hello Nelleke,
From what you have described, it appears that this is likely a Scammer. It is recommended that you immediately sever contact with him.
Please post here the email from the 'Rasta'. It seems most interesting.
Thanks. |

Are you saying that Maijd is the same person as the scammer who was pretending to be the soldier? If so , then he was lying to you before and he is lying now . It is just another attempt to scam you. |

Locked the duplicate thread in Love/Dating - This one will get more views. Although your advice in there bears repeating.

Dating sites, especially Badoo are filled with scammers.
I am glad you saw this as a scam and didn't lose money.
The best way to inform people about this is to visit our sister site, scamwarners.com with the name of his badoo profile, some of the emails he sent and the email addresses he uses.
Since romance scammers inflict emotional pain on their victims, I encourage you to post at scamwarners where we can help you through this time while you emotionally heal.
Be cautious of new email addresses emailing you claiming they can reimburse you for 'scam'. Scammers will invent new characters in an attempt to scam you.
I am very sorry this happened.
ETA: Please drop ALL contact with that scammer. He will lie about everything, tell you he is poor and had no choice but to do a scam.
This is a lie! |

Hi Nelleke.
I am pleased you got suspicious before you lost any money. It sounds vaguely familiar. I had one with a child in Stockholm, Sweden but he thought that was a city in a state of the U.S.
Drop him and just break all contact. Share the details on SW so others can be warned as well. Yes, that email sounds interesting. They think up all sorts !
You know, the Army in Afghanistan don't have time to find Romance online. Scammers fall in love in a day and then they ask for money. Sadly always the same.
So glad you have found out now. |
