Here's one I haven't seen before. I've been having a terrible time with the bank. They told me it was a scam, but my friend from the CIA has assured me that his friend the Executive Governor is legit. This morning I got this:

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE $1,350.00 PAYMENT? I THINK WILL BE BETTER YOU SEND THE MONEY VIA; MONEY-ORDER OR CASHIER' CHECK.

IF YOU WILL COMPLY THEN WRITE BACK TO ME SO I CAN GIVE YOU THE NAME AND ADDRESS TO ISSUE AND SEND EITHER MONEY-ORDER OR CASHIER'S CHECK TO.

DO NOT ALLOW THE DEVIL STEAL YOUR JOY.

(I really like that list bit.)

I suspect I'll find a mule at the end of the rainbow!

I know that banks require a positive ID before they will cash a cashier's check, and I'm pretty sure that MO's are the same. Unless the lad is going to give you his real identity (doubtful) you're probably right that you're going to get hooked up with a mule.

You may as well run with it, and keep that devil from stealing your joy...

Fear not, I'm driving this one nuts. We've gotten to the point where HE created another character and keeps confusing himself.

I suspect that the money order is going to have some real issues.

Get an envelope large enough to hold the amount of money he wants. Put your fake return address on it, his address, mark it SPECIAL HANDLING (or something similar), and then put on some stamps. Scan the envelope, attach the scan to the next email you send him, and assure the lad you have mailed him the money. He will whine and moan, but assure him it will be fine. You can even actually send it off, or not. You can even put a slit in the envelope & he will think someone stole the money out of it. Or you can send him the scan only and tell him the envelope went to some other address and he will have to go pick it up (hopefully in another city). It doesn't always work, but generally gets a raise out of them.

Also, Money orders are for $500.00 USD or less. Cashiers Checks are for amounts over $500.00 and do require the name of the person cashing it. Of course it's been a while since I purchased one though.

And don't do anything stupid. Carling gave me access to his email to show me he was talking with the CIA and this was all real, so her will only get messages that I allow him to. I am in control of this situation, be sure of that.

This lad is really fun already. He thinks I've got $5500 in hand and he's going to ask for a "duty" of $67500 (with Marty confirming it's validity and accepting a check to "help").

He is greedy and in a hurry. Love it.

And yes, just like always, he's stuck on the little number and needs to be reminded of who is in charge!

Busted, but very interesting. It turns out this lad had been smacked around before with Marty but with a difference old fart victim. He actually went back to an email string from that bait in 2012 and sent me one of my own messages. Amazing!

He didn't seem to think it was very funny.
