Good Day, eh? First I would like to thank my august, learned mentor oscarpiles without whom this would not have happened so rapidly, and may not have happened at all. To any and all newcomers reading this I strongly encourage you to apply for a mentor without delay and start having fun making scammers miserable. I started off just over a week ago with three baits, one of which has already borne fruit and another which is about to do so.
I chose three messages a month or so old that had come into a penpals account I have under my RL persona. It was these three messages that sparked some curiosity (after 25 years of seeing simliar) and led me here to 419eater by way of Wikipedia.

Without further ado, let me present to you my first Dying Widow Scam:

Cast of Characters:

Fr3ddy, my alter ego.
Mrs. H3l3n 1dah0, the dying widow.
Dr. R3b3cca Mart1n$, her personal physician.
Dr. Andr3 Lalum13r3 F1tzg3rald, bank official.
Advocate T0ni B3ns0n, bank attorney.

And possibly others to come.

After a dozen or so emails between my character and the various scammer characters, I recieved this (presented with the invaluable help and advice of my mentor):

Bank Name: Bank Atlantique Togo
Bank Address: Place Du Petit Marche, Rue Koumore 01 Bp Lome Togo.
Account Name: Franklin Mugu
Account Number: Numbers
Swift Code: ATTGTGTG
Iban Code: Blah Blah Blah
Amount to transfer: $700 (Documents Fee)

It's the recognition sequence for the asymetric (or non palindromic) endonuclease Dchp I. Recently discovered in the extreme thermophile Dollarius choppitus (Dewey, A. H., Cheatham, F. My first scammer is getting anxious. I recieved two voicemails on my K7 line, and email messages from three of the characters:

The Bens0n attorney character has coughed up another account, after the money could not get thorugh to the first one for some reason.

Sadly, I understand this, but my education into the area dates to the obsolete restriction fragment length polymorphisms. It is like reading a transcript of an old Road Runner cartoon, though! =)
