One of the few Trade Union leaders who were really willing to fight all the way for the working man and woman. His detractors will point to his wage but the difference was he fought for his members unlike many of the others. I saw him speak in person quite a few times and his speech was always the highlight and always motivated you to stand up for yourself and those around you.
