I'd like to scam bait, starting with the romance scammer I'm now currently involved with.
I'm a member of Scamwarners, and Bryon William referred me here. I think I just read on here about a person that was proven to not be a scammer, I thought that was the case with mine but I'm still not sure. My gut tells me that he is, but the only way I can prove it is to bait him. I really look forward to baiting all these scammers! [/b] |

Welcome to the forum and the dirty side of baiting.
It can happen on occasion that a person is real and should be cut loose as gently as possible. YKnott had one and I think there was another. i might possibly have one so I am being very easy with it and trying to keep at least a bit of a cold tone while finding out. I think if you look up either the post by YK or even go through Dorothy's recent posts you might find what you spoke of. |

I strongly advise against this. While some victims, or near victims, do enjoy scambaiting, you should never bait your own scammer. You're too close, and it's too easy to get wrapped up emotionally or make mistakes.

My advice is that you sort this out first, before you begin baiting.

A much better alternative would be for you to pass him off to other baiters who can bait him for the evidence. If you've already been at ScamWarners, and are still unsure, you should continue with scam warners and advisors there first.
Please do continue to read here, though, and when you're ready, we're always happy to have another scambaiter. |

Hi Katwoman,
IIRC, your person is not a typical scammer in that he is corresponding with you via his real identity, and looks a bit more like a pro-dater (but a pro-dater typically promises a future that he/she never intends to happen, so it can still be considered a scam.)
I can only echo what Ima said about baiting your own scammer. In your situation, it's probably even more important, because you have been corresponding with him for an extended time. Pretending to be someone you are not can be difficult, especially when you have not had practice at it. There are many little things that you may say and do that can reveal things about you. By now, this person has spent enough time corresponding with you that there is a good chance that he will recognize you from those little things. |

Hi Katwoman, welcome to Eater!
I won't repeat the excellent advice that Ima and Dorothy have given you, but feel free to ask for advice or help if you are ready to try baiting a different scammer. |

I'll give you his Facebook name. He also just today put his BBM code out there so it should be easy to get something started with him using that. I didnt know what it was until i googled it today, i guess from the sound of it that its the newest thing to meet people. Bryon told me that because he was using a scammer sort of nickname when I met him that he was most definitely a scammer. I really need to know about him, its breaking my heart. Please if its determined that he's a scammer, I need to know as soon as possible. This is how I feel. Thanks, and I still want to scam bait, but just romance scammers please, I really want to make as many problems for them as possible and keep them from scamming real women. OMG, that's in comparison to fake women. Hahahaha. |

I recommend that you step back and recover from having been scammed. Take some time and get over the Heartbreak you are going through. Take care of yourself for a while. Once you are free from the experience and you have had some time to become yourself again.....Maybe come back and join us. We will still be here.
