I remember the first time I heard his name was on a TV commercial in the late 70's selling his all time greatest hits and i said...who??
It's funny how he had to leave here and go across the pond to become popular back here.

I understand he was bigger in the UK than in the US. We knew him mostly through late night TV ads for his compilation albums. But I am grateful to him for saving us from invading Martians. |
