Senegal refugee scammer, not really a true romance scammer.

"She" might start off with a romance angle, but will most likely soon try to pawn you off on the "attorney" or the "pastor."

Oh Shocked Hmm... What gives it away as a refugee scammer? I have no experience with romance scams, and I just assumed from the start that's what it was lol. Also, what's a refugee scammer? 99 percent of the emails I get in my catcher account are Pastors, Barristers, and dying old women who want to give away their fortunes.

@Nikonic - After you see just of few of these types of scams you will soon recognize them as such. Senegalese refugee scammers seem to use the same script over and over.

Essentially if you reply with an 'I am interested' type response the Lad will send you pictures and a tale of woe about having to flee their homeland and are now currently residing in a refugee camp. Almost immediately, they will attempt to pawn you off on the Camp Pastor or a Banker or a Barrister ad nauseum. They can be very hard to get off script but if you do it is a real blast.

As Oscarpiles said, after a while you will be able to identify certain things immediately. Refugee scammers are actually pretty easy to pick out, as their approach tactics are usually the same and they almost always use some variant of the "distance or colour" line.

I deal largely with romance scammers and victims, dozens of them every single day. Most are actually quite predictable, and after a while you get to the point where you can identify the majority by profile alone.

As Oscarpiles said, these scammers can be fun if you can get them off script--but they tend to really try to stay on script. I think it's part laziness, part poor English, and their inability to really ad-lib.

Last year, a group of baiters decided to massbait them for bank accounts.
