Indeed, a great loss to the cricketing world. I always enjoyed listening to him. Also loved his South African accent.

I Agree, Very sad day!
Apparently it was from a heart attack, so may have not been linked to he's lung cancer.
He was a joy to hear him commentate. Can't believe Richie Benaud out lived him.
Loved the 12th man impersonations also.
Bill Lawry looked upset, when he was talking about going to the particular sea food restaurant in Hobart, after the test. He said he just couldn't go there without him.

Apart from his commentating he was also a good all-rounder with very
respectable batting and bowling averages.
